Jess Kahler reveals she is struggling after a stranger bodyshamed her
Jess Kahler is a body-positivity advocate with over 125,000 Instagram followers. However, despite keeping her content about self-love and acceptance, she seems to be struggling with it herself. In a video post on Instagram, Jess recounted a recent incident that left her in tears. She shared a clip of her crying in her closet as she recounted an unexpected encounter that occurred on a "water walk".
She spoke about being body-shamed at a time when she's been struggling to love her appearance. For those who are not aware, according to Healthline, Water walking is a low-impact cardio exercise that involves walking back and forth in a pool. She revealed how she has struggled with loving her body for years and said:
"I'm a body positive advocate, and I hate my own body. How ironic. I'm having like a little sad girl moment in my closet. I am really struggling to like anything about my body. I was water walking, and a lady said how horrible my legs looked. I didn't disagree with her. I agreed with her, and it just made me feel so sad inside. I guess I just wanted to share this because everything looks perfect online. I could just keep posting perfect photos, but I am really struggling."

In the same video clip, Jess Kahler could be seen crying her eyes out. The video then had a text, as she wrote her thoughts over a black background. She shared that she had to stop recording herself because she was "crying too much." She shared how the lady's comment broke her and urged people not to make comments, as someone could be trying their best to move their body.
Jess Kahler penned that people don't know what someone was going through or how much damage someone's words could possibly do. She added that her own struggle had encouraged her to be an advocate for body sensitivity. However, she admitted that she has been struggling a lot lately.
Several users came in her support; a commenter said, "Oh honey, I feel this so deeply. This year has been really difficult in particular. Sending so much love, and just know how special you are to all of us in our little community." Another penned, "This makes me so sad and mad. Your legs are beautiful exactly as they are. The audacity some people have to think someone else's body is up for public discussion is wild. Keep showing up, keep wearing what you love, and take up ALL the space, babe."

Jess Kahler reveals this was not the first time she has been shamed for her looks
Many hours later, Jess Kahler took to her Instagram Stories and revealed that she was "overwhelmed" by the reaction to the video. She shared that she was grateful for the kind comments and messages that people had left her. However, it was not just one incident. Jess recalled how she had heard such comments throughout her life and once again urged people to show kindness. The content creator asked people to leave those who were trying to get better alone and said:
"The hard thing is this is not an isolated incident. This is my whole life, so…and it really sucks. If you see someone working out, doing their best. Just leave them alone; you don't need to say anything. Just please stop staring."
