Action king, Arjun Sarja is back on the big screen with his latest offering, Blast. The Tamil language movie, which is an action thriller, was released on May 28, 2026. The classic vintage style action movie has catered to a lot of modern fans, as there are action scenes every five minutes in the movie. Well, the movie has three main villains, while Arjun Sarja, Preity Mukhundhan and Abhirami are shown to be a family of karate fighters.
For the unversed, Arjun Sarja is seen playing the role of a karate master in Blast. He is seen training his daughter, 'Nilja' essayed by Preity Mukhundhan. Arjun teaches her to be independent and fearless so that she can help herself and others when required. Blast showcases the story of a middle-class family that is trained in martial arts. He raises 'Nila' exactly with the same ideology. On the other side, Abhirami is shown to play the role of his wife, who also has a similar martial arts background. The family is shown to be living a peaceful life until a very dangerous gangster group is seen coming and is seen doing an illegal deal that is also in crores.

Netizens are loving the movie, Blast and the reviews are all positive. A lot of fans have shown love for the screenplay and also the action sequences. Well, a user on X related to the movie had written, "Subash K Raj’s ‘Blast’ is a well-written action movie that makes good use of its USP of a family of fighters. Arjun, Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan play a family of karate fighters. They just want to mind their own business and maybe help a helpless person or two." A part of the tweet also read:
"But when a “corporate villain” turns up, they are forced to do what our mass-heroes do. But (thankfully) without the preachiness and the noble-mindedness. And with a lot of solid detailing and solid fun. That’s the quick review. A longer analysis will follow soon.”

Another user noted that the first half of the movie had taken more time than the story build-up and wrote, "Blast, a simple storyline with neatly written screenplay.. 1st hour of movie took much time to set things up & few scenes felt okayish .. fight sequences are really well made, and highly entertaining Arjun, Preity & Abhirami did a great job. Last hour full of back-to-back action scenes.. engayum bore adikala, just 1 song at the start of the movie and no romance in this movie.. o personally felt the background score could have been better."

Well, the first half of the film, Blast, is majorly related to the family setup and the characters having emotional bonding. It is director, Subhash K Raj who kinds of establishes the lead stars, and the martial arts background gives a lot of freshness to the movie. There are also a lot of emotional moments between the characters in Blast. The role of the gangsters is played by Arjun Chidambaram, Pawan, and John Kokken. The screenplay of Blast has kept the fans glued to the screen.

Arjun Sarja still carries that mass aura effortlessly. The home sequence & villain area fight gave a proper adrenaline rush. What a movie. Amazing direction and writing by debutant director, Subhas Raj."
