One of the vichitra jodis of Bigg Boss 12, legendary bhajan singer, Anup Jalota and his student-girlfriend, Jasleen Matharu have been raising eyebrows. Anup and Jasleen’s relationship has become the breaking news of Bigg Boss season 12 and there is no doubt about that. Their relationship is neither going well with the viewers nor with Jasleen’s family. Both her father, Kesar Matharu and mother, Jaspreet Matharu are extremely hurt after watching their daughter involved with Anup ji. In an exclusive interview with The Times of India, Jasleen Matharu’s father Kesar Matharu has poured his heart out and shared the humiliation they are facing. Kesar ji had shared, "I am hurt, and I would never accept their relationship. We were not informed that she is dating Anup Jalota. We were told that they were going inside as guru-shishya Jodi. I was shocked and was surprised when she spoke about being in a relationship with him for the past 3 years. I am getting calls from my relatives who are asking me if the news is true. They are telling me how did I allow her to have an affair with him. Woh bolte hain humari beti hoti toh hum kaat ke phek dete (had jasleen been their daughter they would have killed her). But I don't think I have the right to do that. I will never do that to my daughter. I know she has done a mistake and I pray to God that she changes her decision after coming out of the house.”
Not just this, Jasleen’s father also went on to share that they are being taunted by their relatives and that it has become difficult for them to step out of their house. He was quoted as saying, "As a father I have always supported Jasleen and have brought her up like a son. I got her trained in kick-boxing, she wanted to learn singing I supported her in that too. But now my relatives taunt me by saying that she has taken advantage of the freedom given to her. As a father I will always pray for her well-being and want her to grow in life, but I will never accept her relationship. Her mother and I are equally hurt. She has stopped talking to me since the time she saw them on Bigg Boss 12. We are not able to go out as wherever we go people ask us about Jasleen and Anup.”
Kesar Matharu further revealed that if their daughter Jasleen accepts her relationship with Anup Jalota, he would stop talking to her. He said, "I want to speak to her once she comes out of the house to know exactly if all this is true and if the news of their relationship is really true and she wants to continue with him, I won't tell her anything. I will just stop talking to her and would maintain a distance from her. As we belong to a very reputed family and it is not possible for me to accept their relationship.”
Kesar Matharu also revealed that they have known Anup Jalota for the last 35 years and Jasleen was only introduced to him 4 years back. This was due to her singing training and guidance. Here’s what Kesar remarked, "I also belong to Bollywood, I am a director and have known Anup ji for the last 35 years. I have known him from the time when he was not the bhajan samrat and was struggling to get his foothold. I had no idea that they were dating each other. All this while he kept visiting our house and we also met him at many occasions."
Talking about seeing his daughter on small screen in the Bigg Boss house, he quipped, “I think Bigg Boss is a biggest platform any artist can get. When she told us that she would be going on the show, we were very happy that we would get to see her on such a big reality show. She is a very talented girl and I would want everyone to know her because of that and not for her relationship. I want Jasleen to motivate others with her singing talent and do well on the show. Though I am upset, it feels good when I see her doing household chores on TV. She never entered kitchen as she did not have time. But her mother used to always tell her that she should learn doing some ghar ka kaam. I feel extremely nice when I see her participating in kitchen duties or helping others." There is no denying that Jasleen’s father is extremenly upset with her, but he doesn’t get affected by the trolls. Concluding his interview, he said, "I don't get affected by trolls at all. I am hurt by my daughter's decision and she is my apna baccha. Whatever problems we have we will sort out between us. These haters have nothing to do in life and they abuse people online. This is not the first time they are writing bad things about Jasleen. Earlier, also they have been posting some really nasty comments on her pictures, but I don't pay attention to them, nor I get upset. People troll Modiji and Rahul Gandhi as well, but they don't stop doing their work.”
Only time will tell whether Jasleen Matharu and Anup Jalota’s relationship is real or it’s just their game plan. Till then, we will have to wait and watch!
