Mickey Lee is an event curator from Jacksonville, Florida, now residing in Atlanta, Georgia. She recently appeared on the reality show, Big Brother Season 27. While she didn't win, she did manage to earn a massive fanbase. And now, the star is in need of help after suffering a series of cardiac arrests from a complication of the flu. Here's what we know so far.

Big Brother fame, Mickey Lee, has recently been in the headlines, but not for the reason we'd hope. The reality TV star was hospitalised after her flu worsened and led to a cardiac arrest. Ever since, the family has shared that she is in "critical condition" after suffering a "series of cardiac arrests." Lee's family shared the update via her Instagram handle on December 22, 2025. 

The post revealed that Mickey Lee suffered a series of cardiac arrests. They shared that this happened after the reality TV star suffered complications from the flu. The family noted that while she was stable, she was admitted to the ICU and was in a critical state. The note was quoted as saying:

"Mickey recently suffered a series of cardiac arrests following complications from the flu and is now in the ICU in critical but stable condition. She has been surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, but the road ahead will be long and challenging."

Mickey Lee's family starts a GoFundMe for medical expenses

The family had posted a screenshot of Mickey Lee's GoFundMe page, along with an explanation of what happened and a request for help from the internet. The note began with a brief introduction to Lee and her journey on the CBS show Big Brother Season 27. They further shared how she had captured the fans' attention with her "energy and authenticity". The note could be read as:

"Many of you know Mickey Lee from Big Brother (CBS), where she became one of the most talked about houseguests on Season 27. A vibrant, strategic, and unforgettable personality, Mickey captured fans' attention with her energy, authenticity, and bold gameplay. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and based in Atlanta, Georgia, she brought charm and fierce competition to the Big Brother house as an event curator and creative force."

Further in the post, Mickey Lee's family expressed the financial strain the recent incidents had put on her and the family as a whole. They requested the netizens' help with the financial burden. They added how Lee had touched many in more ways than they could note. They concluded the post thanking the fans for their prayers and support. The GoFundMe has raised USD 12,000 of its USD 22,000 goal. They were quoted as saying:

What is Big Brother?

For the unversed, Big Brother is an American reality show based on the Dutch show of the same name. It was created by producers, John de Mol Jr. and Ron Diesel in 1997. The American edition of the show streamed on CBS on July 5, 2000. The show follows the premise of several people living in one house, isolated from the outside world, for a cash prize of USD 750,000.
