Bha.Bha.Ba., has finally been released in theaters on Thursday, December 18, 2025, and fans are absolutely loving it. The entertainer marks Dileep's comeback alongside Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Sandy. The film is helmed by Dhananjay Shankar. The film also stars Mohanlal in a special cameo appearance. As fans rush to the theaters to catch the early shows of Bha.Bha.Ba., social media has been flooding with early reactions.
Dileep's much-awaited film, Bha.Bha.Ba., has finally hit the theatres. Debutant director, Dhananjay Shankar's film, Bha.Bha.Ba., is short for movie, Bhayam Bhakthi Bahumanam. The film marks Dileep's first project since being acquitted by the trial court earlier in December 2025 in the 2017 actress assault case. The actor's name being linked to the case had already divided the audience, with many criticising top stars, including Mohanlal and Vineeth Sreenivasan, for collaborating with the actor.

Coming to the film, such a controversy hanging over the lead actor's head has already made it difficult for the audience to separate the art from the artist, a debate that Bha.Bha.Ba., has decided not to indulge in. The film is one of those projects where the makers assume that spectacle, star power, and sheer noise are enough to blast past the uncomfortable questions. However, even when viewed as pure cinema, it doesn't go beyond a one-time watch.

While critics believe that the makers have mistaken chaos for comedy, saying it offers very little to engage with. Fans have been quite lenient with their verdict of the film. However, if one needs to summarise the plot of Bha.Bha.Ba., it can be called the tale of a crazy man who kidnaps a chief minister, holds the authorities hostage with the brand of madness as his allies, including children, to a legendary 'pan-Indian' goon named 'Ghillibala'. However, while fans left that for the concept to make sense, the characters needed to be far deeper. Instead, the characters are so over-the-top that they border on excessive.

While Gopi Sundar's jarring score and Shaan Rahman's songs are a hit among fans, they don't offer much in the way of saving for Bha.Bha.Ba. However, the film is not entirely gone; a few comedies land impeccably, and Vineeth Sreenivasan's role has garnered immense praise from fans. However, at the end of it all, they have labelled the film a 'no-logic' one-time watch, with a whistle-worthy cameo by Mohanlal.

First half of Bha.Bha.Ba. has been immensely praised by fans. Most X (formerly Twitter) reviews clearly discuss it. One user wrote, "#BhaBhaBa IS PURE MADNESS, Pre Interval No logic, Just MADNESS!!!!" Another review said, "#BhaBhaBa FIRST HALF - SUPERB ONE. After a long PEAK #DILEEP with peak energy and pure entertainer." Fans have happily agreed that the film has no logic and should not be viewed through any lens other than entertainment. However, somehow it proved to be the biggest strength of the film as a user penned, "1st Half Theatre Blast!! Entertainment Pro Maxxx film!! A perfect theatre material film!"

References and spoof moments win hearts. Netizens are enjoying the many references and spoof scenes in the film. One tweet said, "No logic only madness… spoof reference… Retro song fight sequence was a level experience." A comment read, "with n number of old #Vijay, #Mohanlal, #Mammootty, of course #Dileep, and other hit movie references along with addition of hit songs, Bha Bha Ba felt like a lavishly made mid-comedy skit, a spoof, and a fully forced, over-the-top, clichéd fest."
