Benny Blanco Claims He's Unsure If Selena Gomez 'Picked Right Guy' As Her Husband, 'Pinch Myself'

Although the murmurs about the same have since subsided considerably, it seems that Benny himself is still unsure if his wife, Selena, made the right choice.
Benny Blanco says he pinches himself every day, having Selena Gomez as his wife
Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez have been married for nearly a year now. As the music producer appeared on the September 15, 2026 episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, he was asked how their first year of marriage had been going. Benny claimed that it has been super easy and a wonderful experience living with his best friend.
He also did not shy away from admitting to host Jenna Bush Hager that he's still “pinching myself every day.” Speaking about how fast the past year went by, Benny shared:
“Honestly, it happened so quickly. I was literally just talking to Selena yesterday cause we’re about to celebrate our one year, and I was like, ‘What even happened?’ It’s like done already.”
Calling themselves lucky, Benny said that he and Selena are each other's yin and yang. He feels like he is essentially getting to spend the rest of his life with his best friend. Explaining further, Benny said that sometimes he would come home and gossip about the same thing. In his words:
“We are so lucky and fortunate that we’re just each other’s yin and yang. Everything is so easy, and she’s my best friend. Sometimes I get home, and I feel like we’re gossiping about the same thing. It’s like, I don’t know. It’s my best friend that I get to spend the rest of my life with.”
Benny Blanco then went on to jokingly claim that he is still unsure if his wife, Selena, made the right choice by picking him as his husband. He said, “And yeah, I'm like pinching myself every day. I'm like, ‘Are you sure you picked the right guy?’”
Benny Blanco revealed the secret to winning over Selena Gomez
A few days ago, during his appearance on the Today Show, Benny Blanco got candid about what he did to win over someone like Selena Gomez. He said that he didn't use “black magic or anything”; instead, he was just nice.
Benny revealed that he and the Lose You To Love Me singer were in a really good spot in their marriage. He believes that being a nice person is what put Selena in his orbit. He also noted the importance of being understanding to your partner and being able to talk things through.
While he is a nice husband to Selena, Benny said that it was also a priority for him to have a nice partner. Benny shared that he had created a list to manifest his wife, with someone who's a nice person as one of the points. The other two were someone who's age-appropriate and someone who would wake up “generally happy.”
According to Benny Blanco, he decided to come up with the list after he discussed with his therapist that even though he wants to find the right partner, he was doing something wrong. He really wanted to find the right person to spend the rest of his life with, for which the guidelines would be necessary.
