'Beauty In Black' Season 2 Ending Explained: Kimme Rises To Power As The Bellaries' Empire Crumbles

Beauty in Black Season 2 Part 2 revolves around shifting alliances, loyalties, and ambitions that led to the collapse of a corrupt empire. However, at the centre of this is 'Kimmie', who finally secured a powerful position within the 'Bellaire' family through her marriage to 'Horace'. A plan she had made with strategic details.

Nonetheless, what began as a calculated alliance soon evolved into a complete takedown of the family's illegal operations. As tension rises, every character is forced to choose between loyalty and survival. The Season explores how the family's hierarchy is rearranged in the web of betrayals, alliances, and revelations. Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

'Kimmie's' strategic rise to control

'Kimmie' steps into her role with authority and purpose. She is backed by 'Horace' as she begins to dismantle the 'Bellaire' family's illegal operations. Her actions immediately have her at odds with key 'Bellaires', including 'Olivia' and 'Roy', who are apparently dependent on this side income.

However, 'Kimmie's' real strength lies in her ability to curate a long-term plan and her patience, which is evident when she stays put despite being aware of 'Jules' and 'Norman's' trafficking operations. However, she soon gets her hands on the evidence she had long waited for when 'Mallory' and the family lawyer, 'Varney', entered the picture with crucial proof and witnesses. This leaves 'Kimmie' fully prepared to destroy the 'Bellaries' when she calls a shareholder meeting.

'Mallory' has a surprising transformation as she shifts alliances

'Mallory' begins the season focused on maintaining her position in the family. However, it didn't take long for her position to shift dramatically. She was initially unaware of her husband, 'Roy's' involvement in criminal dealings, as she remained disillusioned despite his behaviour becoming more erratic and dangerous. Nonetheless, 'Roy's' affair, involvement in trafficking and his offshore accounts to frame her soon broke this illusion she had. Rather than going down with him 'Mallory' adapts, and aligns herself with 'Varney' and 'Kammie'. She soon realised that her survival depended on switching sides, as her involvement in the crimes was minimal, which would allow her to avoid severe consequences if she cooperated with authorities. In the end, she successfully distances herself from 'Roy', further securing her future.

The fall of the 'Bellaire' family

The shareholder meeting becomes the decisive moment of the season, as one by one, every 'Bellaire' is exposed. 'Roy is removed for his proven drug addiction, while 'Charles' is implicated in a criminal investigation involving dead bodies. 'Normal' is exposed for trafficking and money laundering. On the other hand, 'Olivia' is linked to some financial crimes and instability. Each revelation leads to frozen shares or legal consequences, effectively stripping each 'Bellaire' member of their power. The collapse fulfils 'Horace's' long-standing goal: to punish his corrupt family and reclaim control of the empire.

'Jules' becomes the dangerous wild card in Beauty in Black Season 2 Part 2

'Jules' leaves the audience surprised as she operates throughout the season as a volatile and unpredictable threat. He is suspicious of 'Kimmie' from the beginning. However, his paranoia intensifies after his son, 'Glen's' near-fatal accident. Believing foul play was involved, 'Jules' kidnapped 'Kimmie's' younger sister, 'Sylvie', hoping to reach the truth. However, his plan shifts the power dynamics around him when he realises that he cannot take 'Horace' and 'Kimmie' directly, and he releases 'Sylvie' after forcing her into silence. Despite the temporary step back, he remains one of the most dangerous characters in the show.

'Sylvie's' traumatic escape

'Sylvie's' arc was one of the most emotional subplots in Beauty in Black Season 2 Part 2, focusing on the cost of the 'Bellaire' world. Already a survivor of abuse and trafficking, she is pulled into further danger due to her connection to 'Kimmie'. She reaches her breaking point after being kidnapped and, despite returning home safely, chooses not to reveal the truth about her abduction, fearing retaliation. Her decision to leave for college represents a desire for freedom and safety, which comes as a stark contrast to the chaos surrounding the 'Bellarie' family.

'Varney's' truth is revealed in Beauty in Black Season 2 Part 2

'Varney's' role is crucial even though most of his actions take place behind the scenes. Through his connection with 'Evan', he unravelled the full extent of the trafficking network run by 'Jules' and 'Norman'. His partnership with 'Mallory' becomes instrumental in gathering evidence and building a case against the 'Bellaries'. His actions show that even those initially tied to the family can become key players in its destruction.

Beauty in Black Season 2 Part 2 concluded with a dramatic reshaping of power, with the fall of once dominant 'Bellaire' family. They are fractured, exposed, and largely defeated, as 'Kimmie' and 'Horace' succeed in their mission, using intelligence and strategy rather than brute force. 'Mallory' found a new identity as she uncovered that proving loyalty is secondary to survival in this world. Meanwhile, characters like 'Jules' and 'Sylvie' highlight the lingering danger and emotional fallout of the family's actions.
