The former couple had been in the news due to rumours about their marriage, and now, five months after their wedding, the estranged couple announced their split and sought privacy. Amid the news of Badshah’s split from Isha, his first marriage is under the limelight.
Badshah had an interfaith first marriage with Jasmine Masih
Badshah and Jasmine hail from different religious and cultural backgrounds. The duo met online on Facebook and later connected through a common friend at a party in Chandigarh. The duo dated for 18 months before getting married.
Their wedding took place in 2012 in a private ceremony. Their relationship mostly remained private, away from the media glare. In 2017, Badshah and Jasmine welcomed their daughter, Jessemy Grace Masih Singh.
What led to Badshah and Jasmine’s ‘messy’ divorce?
Jasmine was born and raised in London and came from a Christian background. On the other hand, Badshah was born into a Hindu family. The couple had an interfaith and cross-cultural marriage, which eventually became the reason for their split. In an interview with Lallantop, Badshah spoke about his split with Jasmine and revealed that his parents had predicted many issues due to cultural differences.
In the same interaction, Badshah also shared that Jasmine could not adapt to the cultural differences, which made it really messy. Further in the interview, Badshah revealed that people hold many flawed concepts about marriage and weddings. He also pointed out that one needs to reach a high level of maturity to commit to something like marriage. Talking about his own failed marriage, the rapper said:
“She was born in London, she grew up there. My parents predicted that there would be problems. And that’s what happened. She could not adapt to the culture, and it got really messy. But both of us tried very hard to make it work."
Badshah dotes on his daughter, Jessemy. Earlier, Badshah mentioned that he hated kids before his daughter's birth. But all that changed when Jessemy came into his life, and he began to love kids. The actor called Jessemy his ‘entire world’ and stated that he could do anything for her. The reason for Badshah and his first wife, Jasmine's, divorce was that the ex-couple felt their relationship was not healthy for their daughter.
In a conversation on the podcast Prakhar ke Pravachan with Prakhar Gupta, Badshah shared that despite their efforts to stay together, the marriage became unhealthy for their daughter. Elaborating on the same, he said:
“We both tried everything. We tried our best and gave everything that we had. We separated because it was not healthy for our child. I get to meet my child, but not that often, as she lives in London.”
After his divorce from Jasmine, Badshah’s name was linked to many people, including Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. But in March 2026, rumours of his wedding to Punjabi actress Isha Rikhi surfaced after her mother posted glimpses of the couple’s intimate wedding. Soon, Isha confirmed the news. However, as fate would have it, Badshah and Isha’s marriage fell apart.
