Known for her amazing bindi collection and perfect mean girl vibes, one of the most famous villains from 2000s, Ashwini Kalsekar married Bollywood actor, Murli Sharma in 2009. On August 9, 2018, Murli is celebrating his 45th birthday, and his darling wife has a lovely wish for him. Sharing a picture of them on Instagram, Ashwini wrote, “Wish you a very happy birthday to my best friend my husband my only my life @sharma_murli thank you god for this amongst many others...”
In an earlier interview with the Times Of India, Ashwini talked about her bonding with her husband, Murli Sharma. She stated, “Murli and I are friends. I’m more a people person whereas he is an introvert more into books and music. Honestly, we are poles apart but then we have a great understanding about valuing each other’s likings and priorities. I guess that keeps us going!”
Before her wedding to Murli, Ashwini credited her then-boyfriend for the finesse in her performances, and said, "I have got fabulous friends, family and a boyfriend who gives me all the feedback required. Murli is a great actor and his support has always mattered a great deal." She also expressed her wish to work on some project with him someday. She was quoted as saying, "I would like to play nice character roles and a very good cop's role on the big screen. And I would love to work with Murli. He is great on screen and a wonderful person to be with. Also since no one has cast us together anywhere as yet." Murali and Ashwini are head-over-heels-in-love with each other, and post-Golmaal series, they will be sharing the screen space again. Murali Sharma and Ashwini Kalsekar were roped in to play an on-screen couple in director Puri Jagannadh’s next Telugu venture, Mehbooba. Speaking about the same, Murali shared, “Puri is one director that every actor wants to work with. So, obviously I am excited but there’s another reason. I got to play a dominating husband in the movie. So if not in real life, at least in the movie, I was being the boss! I don’t think any husband can refuse such an offer.”
On March 22, 2018, Murli and Ashwini celebrated their 13 years of togetherness. Sharing a heartfelt post on Twitter, Murli wrote, “Then and now.13 years of togetherness @ash22kalsekar .. "If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you." — A. A. Milne ..happy anniversary to us..keep the love n blessings coming”
For the uninitiated ones, this is Ashwini’s second marriage and she was earlier married to Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka actor, Nitesh Pandey. After getting married in 1998, they parted their ways in 2002. Nitesh then tied the knot with the actress, Arpita Pandey. In an interview with India Forums, when Ashwini was asked if Nitesh was seeing Arpita while they were married, she said, "I really don't know. Our separation was a mutual decision. But I don't want to talk about a relationship that is over. Nitish and have both moved on in our lives."
After her divorce with Nitesh in 2002, Ashwini dated a Bandra restaurateur for a while, which she managed to keep under the wraps. When asked what went wrong in that relationship and if her professional life affected her personal life, she shared, "Not at all. That was not the reason. I was giving this relationship more than 100 per cent. But it was not destined to be, and it's over now. Certain things are best left private. But coming back to your question, if one wants to take out time for anything in the world, they can. I am doing not only two shows on television, but many films as well." Speaking about being averse to men after two failed relationships, Ashwini then said, "It hasn't been easy for me to get over a broken relationship, both times. I am very sensitive, but not averse to men. I would love to re-marry and have kids. In fact, my parents too want me to marry again." She also shared that she cannot get in a live-in relationship, "You get to know the person better if you live-in with him before marriage. But I come from a conservative Maharashtrian family, and I don't think that will ever happen."
We wish for a happy married life for this amazing couple, Murali Sharma and Ashwini Kalsekar!
