Texas prosecutors recently claimed that over the last several years, influencer Ash Trevino maintained contact with an estimated 50 to 75 people housed in Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities. According to court filings tied to her welfare fraud case, many of those individuals were reportedly serving time for serious violent crimes, including aggravated robbery and murder.
The filings also criticized her TikTok activity. Prosecutors described it as soliciting money from viewers in exchange for updates about a dependent’s health condition. They further objected to sexually explicit videos and livestreams she posted online.
On August 5, 2026, Ash Trevino entered a guilty plea to welfare fraud and fraudulent securing of document execution. Under the agreement, she will complete two years of community supervision, 120 hours of community service, an anti-theft program, and pay restitution of USD 16,799.95 to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
Separate reports indicated that she is now receiving paid video requests. Following the plea, she reportedly received more than 20 new Cameo orders. Her current rate is listed above USD 50, down from a previous price of USD 138.
Ash Trevino was taken into custody on two different occasions
Ash Trevino’s legal issues date back to December 17, 2025, when she was taken into custody in Texas on felony charges. She was processed at Ellis County Jail and later released after posting a bond of USD 15,000.
According to a statement from Venus Police Chief James Groom, a patrol officer who knew Lopez-Trevino had outstanding felony warrants from the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office approached her in her front yard at 7:50 p.m. on December 17, 2025. Groom said she was detained without incident and transported to Ellis County Jail for booking.
She later shared a Snapchat story a day after being released. She was seemingly leaving the facility, laughing, while a voice off-camera noted her release. In another viral video, she said that she had legal representation and mentioned plans to visit a casino that day. In another segment addressing the charges, she stated her intent to contest them.
She was arrested again on March 4, 2026, and booked into Ellis County Jail under a judge’s commitment order, per the Sheriff’s Office. Records show she was released the same day.
Legal documents alleged that prosecutors filed a motion a few days before Trevino’s arrest on February 24, 2026, seeking to have her bond declared insufficient for violations of her release terms. They claimed she had consumed alcohol once and bought it another time, citing social media images from a birthday gathering and a restaurant receipt as evidence.
Her attorneys denied that any bail conditions were breached. Her release came under certain conditions. It included an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew monitored by an ankle device, a ban on entering venues that serve alcohol, enrollment in a pretrial supervision program, random drug and alcohol testing, and a directive not to discuss the case on social media.
A Venus Police Department report from the December 2025 arrest listed two active felony warrants dated November 21, 2025. The charges included healthcare fraud involving amounts between USD 2,500 and USD 30,000, as well as an additional fraud count.
