Arjun Kapoor Was Sridevi's Favourite When She Came To Live In Boney Kapoor And Mona Shourie's House

Indian film producer, Boney Kapoor got married to Mona Shourie in 1983, and soon the couple welcomed two children, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor. However, destiny had other plans, as Boney couldn’t help falling in love with the gorgeous Sridevi. Boney knew that he had a family, but he still couldn’t resist Sridevi’s charm and tried everything to woo her.

Soon, when Sridevi reciprocated his love, Boney left Mona and their children to marry Sridevi in 1996. The duo welcomed two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. Sridevi was tagged as a homebreaker because she led a comfortable life with Boney. On the other hand, Mona single-handedly raised her children.

Boney Kapoor revealed Sridevi shared a close bond with Arjun Kapoor

It was during the 1993 blast that Sridevi came to live with Boney and Mona at their home. She was staying at the Sea Rock hotel when the Mumbai blast happened. It was Boney who called Sridevi’s mom and insisted to her that the actress come and stay with his family. From March 1993 to May 1993, Sridevi lived in Boney Kapoor’s home.

In a conversation with Chanda Kochhar on her YouTube channel, Boney shared a lesser-known chapter from his family’s life. He revealed how Sridevi shared a warm bond with Arjun when she came to live with his family. Speaking about the same, Boney revealed that Arjun was her favourite and said:

“When Sridevi came to my house, when this bomb blast had happened, she used to get along very well with Arjun. Arjun was her favourite when she stayed as a guest. He didn’t know what was happening. I remember those days vividly, but somehow, things don’t go the way you planned.”

Boney Kapoor was so smitten by Sridevi that he couldn’t help but fall in love with her. He even confessed about his feelings to his ex-wife, Mona Shourie. Mona suffered a lot after Boney’s betrayal; however, she raised her children Arjun and Anshula with all the love. In March 2012, Mona passed away due to multiple organ failure after battling cancer. After Mona’s death, Boney made sure to be present for Arjun and Anshula.

In an interview with Filmfare, Boney revealed that Sridevi would often check on Arjun and Anshula through him. Boney shared that Sridevi had no bitterness and that her priority was their children. Speaking about the same, he shared:

“Her priority is our children. She constantly checks with me about Arjun and Anshula. She’s a devoted family person whether it’s with my parents or our children. And she’s always seen that the family remains together. She goes an extra mile for that.”

However, Arjun’s take was completely different. In an interview with Film Companion, Arjun Kapoor revealed how he was not okay with his father’s marriage to Sridevi and said:

“I don't agree... I can't say I'm okay with what my father did, because as a child I felt the repercussions, but I understand it. I can't say 'theek hai, hota hai, because I will always wonder.”
