Arjun Bijlani Cuts Short His New Year Vacation As Father-In-Law Dies, 'Entire Family Is In Shock..'

Arjun Bijlani and his family are going through a difficult start to 2026 as his wife, Neha Swami Bijlani's father, Rakesh Chandra Swami, passed away at the age of 73. The couple was holidaying in Dubai. However, the two cut short their vacation and returned back home to be with the family in these extremely tough times.

Arjun Bijlani's father-in-law passed away

Arjun Bijlani and his wife, Neha Swami Bijlani, along with their son, were in Dubai. However, they returned after Neha found out about her father's ill health. He was on a ventilator on December 29, 2025. As per a report in the Hindustan Times, a family member revealed that he was fit and fine and was about to have dinner when suddenly he suffered a stroke. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was kept on a ventilator. The family cannot process the news, as Neha and Arjun met him before flying off to Dubai. The family member said:

"He was fit and fine, set to have dinner when suddenly he suffered a stroke and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was on a ventilator. The entire family is in shock, as Neha and Arjun had met the family before flying off. It was a sudden shock, and we are all still grappling with the situation."

As soon as Arjun and Neha received the information about the latter's father's health, they arrived back in Mumbai. Arjun shared an extremely close relationship with Neha's father as his father passed away when he was quite young. The family member said:

"Yes, as Arjun’s father passed away quite early, he has been very close to him, he was like a father figure to him. Of course, for Neha, he was her closest, as any father is to his daughter."

Once, Neha penned a special post for her father on the occasion of Father's Day. She shared a photo with her dad and expressed how she always admired him and the way he loved and protected his family. She had written:

"Happy Father’s Day to my daddy. I’ve always admired the way you loved, led, and protected our family. A father’s love is the foundation of a family, and yours has shaped who I am and what I seek in the people I love. Thank you for being the example every father should strive to be. Love u daddy."

On the work front, Arjun Bijlani won the reality show, Rise and Fall. The show was hosted by Ashneer Grover, and in October 2025, Arjun lifted the trophy of the same. The show was streamed on MX Player and Amazon Prime Video and gained a lot of traction. Apart from the trophy, Arjun also took home a cash prize of Rs. 28.10 lakh. However, fans trolled him as the actor had shared a fake divorce post ahead of entering the show. Later, he clarified the buzz on Instagram and wrote that every word he said in the video, he meant it, but he said not to speculate. So, he is not getting divorced.
