Are Sloane Stephens And Her Husband, Jozy Altidore Divorcing After Four Years Of Marriage? Find Out

Sloane Stephens is one of the most well-known American professional players. Coming from a family of athletes, she started playing tennis from a young age. She became widely popular among tennis fans when she managed to defeat world No. 3, Serena Williams, at the 2013 Australian Open when she was only 19 years old. Over the years, Sloane has found a lot of success in her career, with her best rank in singles being as high as world No. 3.

Coming to her personal life, Sloane was married to soccer player, Jozy Altidore. However, they left fans surprised when they recently announced their divorce after 4 years of marriage.

Just a while ago, Sloane Stephens took to her Instagram Stories to reveal that she and her husband, Jozy Altidore, have called it quits. The duo had spent four years as a married couple. The note on her Stories revealed that she and Jozy had mutually come to the decision. The brief note can be read as: 

“Jozy and I have decided to end our marriage. With peace, I am navigating this transaction with mutual respect and kindly ask for privacy during this time. Thank you for your love, understanding and continued support.”  

Sources close to the couple have revealed to Page Six that Sloane and Jozy are “amicably splitting.” The sources further revealed that the athletic duo have filed for divorce in Florida. While Sloane's post is garnering a lot of attention, it is worth noting that as of now, her husband, Jozy is yet to speak out on their divorce.

If reports are believed to be true, Sloane Stephens and Jozy Altidore have been together since 2016. Apparently, the pair went to the same high school in Florida when they were younger. When they did reconnect with each other, it didn't take them too long to start dating. Recalling how they encountered after years during a 2022 interview with Vogue, Jozy Altidore stated:  

“I was doing a media scrum in the hallway during a US Men’s National team camp. Sloane was there training for Fed Cup in Hawaii. Sloane turned the corner while having a loud conversation on FaceTime. We locked eyes and started talking during the scrum. We exchanged contacts and went to dinner after my game versus Iceland. The rest was history.” 

According to reports, Jozy Altidore got down on one knee in 2019 after he and Sloane dated for four years. Later, during a conversation with Vogue, the tennis player recounted how her then-boyfriend was acting super nervous. Since chose an act gallery to propose, Sloan immediately became suspicious at the time because Jozy, according to her, is “not an art gallery kind of guy.” However, he still managed not only to pull off a “surreal” proposal but also one which left Sloane “completely blown away.”  

After getting engaged, Sloane and Jozy tied the knot 3 years later, in January 2022. Their ceremony, which was held at the ritzy St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Miami Beach, was reported to be a really lavish one.
