Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi are the quintessential couple in the entertainment industry. He is seven years younger than she is, and the duo kept their marriage a secret for four years. When it became public, many claimed that their marriage wouldn't work. However, they proved everyone wrong and are living a happy life with their two sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan.

Archana Puran Singh confessed to doing C-grade films to support her husband, Parmeet Sethi’s career

Archana and Parmeet have been married for more than three decades. The couple once opened up about a difficult phase when Archana became the household's breadwinner. In a candid conversation on Archana’s YouTube channel, she revealed that she took on all the projects that came her way, including many C-grade films, since Parmeet was trying to establish his foothold in the industry.

She recalled repressing her feminine side, as she knew she had to earn money for the family. She revealed her desire to lean on someone, but she couldn’t do so as Parmeet was trying his luck in the industry. In the conversation, Archana also revealed that she wanted to nudge and prod Parmeet for rejecting projects and being choosy.

Under financial pressure, she was forced to take whatever roles came her way. Elaborating on how she wouldn’t have to take up the projects if Parmeet had stepped up, Archana shared:

“Another mantra of mine is, I never say no to work. Now I have started saying no to some work. The result of that was that I did very bad films. I did C-grade films. Because my mindset was to put bread and butter on the table. At that time, I felt like if you had stepped up, I wouldn’t have to do that work.”

Archana Puran Singh revealed retaining her dignity despite doing cheap films

In the same conversation, Parmeet intervened and told Archana that his focus was on becoming a hero and that he was trying to establish himself as one. Parmeet also said that since Archana was seven years older than him, she had already established a career. After hearing Parmeet’s side, Archana said that she, too, wanted to become a heroine but ended up taking on supporting roles to keep the family running.

Archana reflected on those times and shared that she had come to terms with the reality of their situation and accepted whatever came her way. Revealing how she retained her dignity despite doing cheap films, Archana said:

“I should have remembered that you are seven years behind me. I was thinking that I also wanted to become a heroine, but when that didn’t pan out, I diversified. I became an anchor, a comic lady, I did side roles, bad films, C-grade films, cheap films, but I retained my dignity. In all of that, if I would not have maintained my dignity, I would not have been where I am today.”

For the unversed, Archana had met Parmeet for the first time at a party, and at that time, she didn't want a man in her life because of a failed marriage. But as destiny had it, Archana couldn’t help but fall in love with the charmer, Parmeet. Archana had eloped from her house to marry Parmeet, and the duo had kept their marriage under wraps for four years.
