Arbaaz Khan has commented on his divorce with Malaika Arora and said that all was fine at one point and then it crumbled. The couple got legally divorced in 2017 after 19 years of togetherness.

The harshest truth about relationships is the fact that not all bonds are meant to last forever. Many of our favourite celeb couples have opted for divorce after years of enjoying the marital bliss. Three of the most famous and often quoted examples are of Hrithik Roshan-Sussanne Khan, Farhan Akhtar-Adhuna Bhabhani and Arbaaz Khan-Malaika Arora. The last couple is a lot in the news lately owing to Malaika Arora's relationship with Arjun Kapoor. Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora were married for 19 years from 1998 to 2017. They announced separation in 2016, and got legally divorced in 2017. As much heartbreaking as it sounded then, all seems fine now. Malaika is now dating Arjun, as we told earlier, and Arbaaz Khan has found love in an Italian model and actress, Giorgia Andriani. Talking about his divorce with Malaika Arora Khan, Arbaaz Khan had once shared that he had tried to save the relationship but failed. He had said, "So that happens in relationships also. I tried for 21 years but I couldn't succeed in one aspect but theek hai (that's okay). It's alright. Not many people even try that long."

Arbaaz Khan had yet again opened up about his divorce with Malaika Arora. Talking to Good Times, he shared that everything crumbled after a point. He was quoted as saying, "Everything seemed fine but it crumbled. Things don’t work out, and it’s only fair that two people who want to take their life in their own hands will take that decision.”

He further that he still believes in the institution of marriage and would recommend it to others. He said, “Of course, I would. This institution has gone on for hundreds and thousands of years. It’s like if you know that you’re going to die, you won’t stop living. Earlier, when he had made the statement of saving his relationship for 21 years and then failing at it, he had also added, "People would love to make certain things with lot of adjustments and compromises or scenarios and make it look like it is perfect in anything whether it is your career, whether it is your relationship whether it is your marriage, we want to believe that we can make it. But, I don't know if you ask even the ones who are living that life wouldn't they want something better or could've expected more, maybe yes."

He has further added, "Human beings would still want (more) and you also have people who say I couldn't have asked for a better woman or a better wife, I am so happy. Yes, those scenarios also exist. But, perfection is something that is a constant thing you need to achieve. It is not that you have achieved it and it's gonna stay. It's everyday hard work. To continue to be where you have to be."

When the news of their divorce had broke out in the media, Malaika Arora was asked as to why she wanted a divorce from Arbaaz Khan. She had then shared, "I want to divorce Arbaaz because our marriage has failed to give me any financial stability. My husband and his family want that I start leading a simple and domestic life, which I will not. I shall never forbid my son from meeting his father after the divorce, but I should get his custody at any cost whatsoever."
