The Mumbai airport was lit yesterday after Virat Kohli returned from Kolkata wearing a grey sweatshirt, black track pants, white sneakers and a cap. As soon as he neared his car and sat inside, all we could hear was a loud shriek of surprise as his dear wife, Anushka Sharma had come to receive him at the airport and was waiting for him inside the car. In an interaction with the celebrated American television sports reporter, Graham Bensinger, Virat had revealed it all about their ‘awkward’ first meeting, the cloud of nervousness that was prevalent and a joke that he had cracked, which didn’t go down well with Anushka. He had said, “She is tall and she was wearing heels (makes a gesture which isn’t too much) and she was being told that I am not that tall, I am not 6 feet plus or something… she walked in with heels and was looking taller than me and I was like didn’t you get a higher pair of heels. Then she was like ‘excuse me’ and then I was like ‘no, I am just joking’.”
Prior to her last-release, Zero, Anushka was seen in Sui Dhaaga, opposite Varun Dhawan. During the promotions of the film, the actress had spoken about her camaraderie with hubby, Virat Kohli in an interaction with Anupama Chopra. Therein, she had stated, “I think we are both not so attached to what we do. The other day someone asked me a question you know ‘power couple and two powerful people from your own industry. You know when you are together, how do you manage this and all’. And I thought to myself and I told them also, we don’t see ourselves like that. We start to see ourselves that way then there is something really wrong in the nature of our relationship.
