Shahid Kapoor co-starred with Anushka Sharma, Vir Das and Meiyang Chang in the 2010 released film, Badmaash Company under the banner of Yash Raj Films. It was a super hit film with a blockbuster collection of INR 530 million. However, during one of the promotional events, Anushka and Shahid had once been embroiled in a nasty war of words. Now, as the video was reshared by one of the Reddit users, netizens are once again reacting to the same. It happened that when Shahid was asked about his experience while working with new actors, his answer while generalising others irked Anushka, and she told him to shut his mouth at the end.
In the beginning of the video, Shahid was heard leg pulling Chang by saying, "Badi picture e karega toh Chang is tarah bolta rahega...toh 'bahut picture e kari hai'. Shabbash." In reply to Shahid, Chang said, "Nhi karenge, kuch aur karenge." Soon, Shahid added, "Ohh, Ye picture ke baad hi bol deta hai, itna interest kyun dikha raha hai?" However, Anushka interrupted them and asked Shahid in a taunting tone, "Apne toh cast nhi kiya haina." Soon, things became worse when Shahid told Anushka:
"Aap kyun beech mein kud rahi hai do log ke beech ke baton mein. Main Chang se baat karraha tha, aap se toh nhi kar raha tha."

Amid that, Anushka was heard adding to her previous statements by saying, "Apne toh generalise kiya hai nah." After this, Anushka lost her cool and asked Shahid to 'shut up'. Not only this, Shahid further said, "Yeh aapki purani adat hai, main bhi janta hu", and asked the interviewers to retake the segment as things got a bit nasty after that.
As soon as the video surfaced online, netizens rushed to the comment section to react to it. While many netizens mentioned that it was just a mere prank by the Badmaash Company co-actors to promote their film, many also criticised the duo for the same. One netizen commented, "Is this for real or some interview plot twist? If for real, Shahid seems to have too many problems with alot of his co stars." Another netizen mentioned, "Anushka has a temper."

Shahid was recently seen in his upcoming film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, co-starring Kriti Sanon. However, he has also been receiving huge flak for his choice of a fashion statement during the film's shoot and post-release events. When the trailer was launched in Mumbai on January 18, 2024, he was seen posing with Kriti for the paps stationed over there. It was Shahid's choice of heeled shoes that grabbed everyone's attention, and he was also brutally slammed for the same. Not only this, but earlier, when the first song from the film, Laal Peeli Akhiyaan, was released, the actor faced a bit of outrage on social media after his shoes caught the netizens' attention. Soon, netizens started comparing Shahid's and Kriti's heights and called him insecure.

On the other hand, Anushka is also often seen falling prey to the netizens' doubt as speculations are rife in the media that she and her husband, Virat Kohli, are set to embrace parenthood for the second time. Thus, when Anushka and Virat dropped their 6th wedding anniversary post, from their intimate ball party in London, Anushka grabbed the netizens' attention with her glimpse in the pictures. She looked classy in a strapless black dress but was seen either cosily posing for the lens or wrapping her arms around Virat and others while being clicked. However, netizens were quick to mention that Anushka was hiding behind Virat or other guests in the pictures in order to hide her baby bump from other people, and had flooded the post's comment section with their reactions.
