Recently, in a candid conversation with Dhanya Verma, Anupama shared that her ex-boyfriend introduced her to his family after the first couple of dates. Within three months of their relationship, her ex started talking about engagement. However, she delayed the engagement as she understood it was not love.
Whenever the topic of engagement came up, Anupama said that her ex was very young and so they needed a little more time. Soon, after she called off the engagement, people began calling Anupama a 'gold digger'. Reacting to it, Anupama said:
"I was the one who constantly delayed that engagement because I knew this wasn’t love. It was just desperation to get me to quit acting. Whenever they asked, I would say, ‘I feel that person is very young; we need a little more time; this is not the right time.’ In this relationship, I postponed the engagement multiple times. To those who call me a gold digger, if I hadn’t rejected that engagement proposal, I would have married that person, and it would have ultimately ended in divorce."
Although, Anupama didn’t mention Dhruv Vikram’s name in the interview or specifically address anyone’s name during the recent conversation, social media users began connecting with Dhruv, who was rumoured to be dating Anupama. The duo starred together in the film, Bison Kaalamaadan.
Amid the breakup buzz, netizens have grown curious to know the age gap between the rumoured ex-couple, Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran. According to reports, Dhruv was born on September 23, 1997, and is 28 years old now, while Anupama was born on February 18, 1996 and is now 30 years old. This means the duo share a 2-year age gap.

Anupama shared that the past 2 years were very tough for her. In the same conversation, the Premam actress explained that she faced 'narcissistic abuse', which many people were not aware of. Explaining it further, Anupama said that one day the person would shower their partner with love and care and make them feel that they were the luckiest people on this planet. But the next day, the person would show their brutal side. And the following day, he would be a crybaby and apologise for his actions. In her words:
"One day he will be Remo. We will be showered with love and care and will possibly feel like the luckiest person alive. However, the next day he will be Anniyan. It will be the most brutal side, and he will not care a hoot about what is happening around him. The same person will play Ambi the next day, apologising to me for his mistakes and crying like a baby. He will promise to never repeat the mistakes, but then again the love cycle continues."
Further, in the conversation, Anupama revealed that she had to drop many projects she was supposed to do. There were direct interventions from her ex-boyfriend in things that were completely under her control. She was very much overwhelmed at that time.
