He had also shared the poster of the film after it made a gross collection of Rs. 200 crores at the box office and mentioned his gratitude to everyone attached with its success. However, what caught our attention in the long note was Anupam mentioning his attachment to the film's story as being a son of a Kashmiri pandit. He shared that his character of 'Pushkar Nath' is named after his late father, Pushkar Nath and the film is a tribute to him and to all other victims of the horrible incident in history. Anupam penned:

"From #Saaransh to #TheKashmirFiles; Once upon a time there was a #KashmiriPandit boy called #Bittu. His father was a clerk whose name was #PushkarNath. Bittu worked very hard and became an actor called #AnupamKher. He continued to work hard and in 38 years did #522 films. Then came along a film called #TheKashmirFiles about the genocide of #KashmiriPandits. He was given the lead role in it. He gave this film literally his blood and soul and decided to name the character #PushkarNath as a tribute to his father and lakhs of other #Kashmiris who were the victims of horrible & senseless violence of terrorists."

Further, in his long note, Anupam congratulated the whole team of the film. He also talked about the pain, truth and tragedy which has been shown in the film that has connected with victims worldwide. Anupam further wrote:

"The pain, truth and tragedy of victims connected with the world. People made it their own tragedy all over the world. Bittu’s film is a roaring success today. From a clerk’s son to the member of the #200Crore club at 67 is what dreams are made of. This is called the ultimate #KuchBhiHoSaktaHai. Jai Ho! Thank you #Vivek #Pallavi #Abhishek and everybody for making it possible! #Humbled #Touched #TheKashmirFiles #KashmiriHindus #AllDreamsComeTrue."

On March 19, 2022, Anupam Kher had taken to his Instagram handle and shared a video of his mother, Dulari Kher, in which they could be heard involved in a conversation regarding the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990. In the video, Anupam Kher had asked his mom to recall the tragedy and share some insights about the family members, whom they had lost during the genocide. Answering this, Anupam's mother, Dulari had recalled what her brother had faced at that time. She had said:

"Esme (The Kashmir Files) ek aana bhi galat nahin hain. Enhone bilkul esa he kara hamare saath, mere bhai ke saath kiya. Usko ghar ke neche chitthi mili, jis mein likha tha aaj aapki baari hain. Kahani poori duniya mein pahuch gayi hain ki kya hua tha. Mera bhai Rambagh mein rehta tha. Usne usi saal apna ghar banaya tha. Us bechare ne makaan ke kaagaz bhi nahin uthaye the.”

Sharing the heartbreaking video, Anupam Kher had penned a note, in which he had shared that although he had wanted to have a light-hearted discussion with his mother, Dulari Kher, about the success of his film, The Kashmir Files, his mom was in no such mood. The actor had explained that even after so many years, she was still enraged and hurt just by thinking about what had happened back in 1990 with the Kashmiri pandits. Anupam Kher's note in the caption could be read as:

"I wanted to be a little light hearted while telling Mom about the box office success of #TheKashmirFiles!! But she was in no such mood. She is focused, fearless, hurt, disillusioned and furious! She speaks about the ordeal of the #KashmiriHindus genocide. About women, children suffering and about her younger brother #MotiLalKak. And she takes on the politicians! Dulari is deeply hurt! #DulariRocks #KashmiriPandits #Genocide."

Anupam Kher's tribute to his late father, Pushkar Nath is setting pure father-son goals.
