Since the beginning of Bigg Boss 12, when the audiences got to know about Anup Jalota and Jasleen Matharu’s relationship, the two became the centre of attraction. Every now and then, we get to know something or the other about the couple. In fact, on the face of it, no one could believe if these two people were actually dating.
Though there were never any romantic actions seen inside the Bigg Boss, Anup ji and Jasleen were seen sharing a respectful relationship with each other. Now, that Anup Jalota ji got evicted from the show and is out of the house, he shared the real details about the bond he shares with Jasleen. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Anup Jalota shared, “People are not able to understand our relationship. We don’t have any kind of love story. We just share a musical relationship. She is my student and I am her teacher. I help her in learning music,” He further added and remarked, “There is no girlfriend-boyfriend kind of relationship between us and we are also not involved in any romantic and physical relation.”
Further sharing that Jasleen’s father is his very old friend, Anup ji retorted, “I know Jasleen and his family for a long time. A lot of times I have met them at the airport and at their home. But Jasleen and I hardly get time to meet each other. She hasn’t even met my family members yet.” In fact, a few hours before entering the Bigg Boss house, Jasleen told The Times of India, “This is going to come as a huge shock to my parents and friends as no one is aware of my relationship with Anup Jalota. We have been dating each other for the last three and a half years. Lastly, sharing about why he lasted just for a month, despite the fact he is very well-known and popular. Anup ji was quoted as saying, “I have earned huge goodwill and respect in my decades-long career. Fighting does not suit me. I cannot abuse someone and cannot even take any abuse from someone. So, I think that’s where I lacked and was not able to impress the audience. But I had a lifetime experience in the house. I will miss everyone”. Earlier when other contestants Kriti Verma and Roshmi Banik got evicted and were asked about their relationship, the former said, "Clear love hai. Starting m hume b baakiyon ki tara thora sa doubt hua tha. But as days passes by, hume pyar dikhta hai.” Roshmi instantly interrupted and remarked, “It is a very cute vichitra indeed and lovey-dovey relation. Un logon ka equation normal girlfriend boyfriend se kaafi different hai isliye shayad logon ko samjh nai aa ra but believe us hum log reh chuke hain. It’s 100 % genuine and they are really very sweet together.” And when another contestant Saurabh Patel was asked about Jasleen and Anup ji’s relationship, he said, "They share a very good bonding and understanding. Also, somewhere I feel that if Jasleen did anything wrong, Anup ji would teach her the right thing to do. We never thought that the bonding between them is fake."
Talking about Jasleen and Anup ji (as projected on the show), her father Kesar Matharu said, “I had no clue about this. I was told they were entering as guru-shishya jodi. She never told me about this. When they made the announcement, my entire family couldn’t believe their eyes. We all got very angry. Within ten minutes, I started getting calls from friends. My wife, while watching the show, got up and went inside. It was very unexpected”. He further went on to add, “He kept coming to our house, but I could never sense there is something cooking between the two. We never came to know when all this started”. Initially, Jasleen’s father defended his daughter and told a media portal, “This news was a shocker for me as well as for my family. However, I don’t want to comment anything on her personal life until I meet her. She is on the Bigg Boss 12 house and wants her to stay positive and emerge as the winner of the show. There are many other contestants who have a controversial past, my daughter has not done anything wrong. I wish her all the best for the show and be an inspiration for the society”.
