Anna Faris Shares A Rare Glimpse Into Her Divorce From Actor, Chris Pratt, 'Feeling Sad...'

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt were once considered one of Hollywood's most beloved couples. The couple had been married from 2009 to 2017. The pair’s split in 2017 was both shocking and heartbreaking for their fans. After parting ways with Anna, Chris went on to marry Katherine Schwarzenegger, daughter of veteran actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Anna also moved on in her life and eloped with cinematographer, Michael Barrett. In a recent interview, Anna shared a rare glimpse into her divorce from Chris.

Anna Faris shares a rare insight into her separation from actor, Chris Pratt

In an exclusive interview with Variety, Anna Faris was asked about her divorce from Chris Pratt, which received extensive media coverage. In response, Anna said that the constant public attention during the tough phase made her sad. The Scary Movie star shared that she always believed herself to be strong and tried not to let Hollywood overrule her. Anna explained that during that difficult phase, she found solace in podcasting. She was quoted as saying:

"I was feeling sad. I do feel like I had enough gumption, enough of a core, and I have tried to be careful about how much Hollywood infiltrates, but now I’ve been on a spectrum of fame for 26 years, so I would be naive to think that it hasn’t shaped who I am at this point. But... The scrutiny. I’m lucky that at that time I had my podcast, Unqualified. That goes back to the talk radio. I wanted, like, four people to listen and to build my own secret community. I wanted an avenue outside of Hollywood as a way to connect with people."

Inside Anna Faris and Chris Pratt's past relationship

Like many great romances in Hollywood, Anna and Chris first met on the set of Take Me Home Tonight. At the time, Anna was married to Ben Indra. Although Chris was interested in Anna, he didn't pursue her until she was single. By August 2008, Chris and Anna had completed their one year of togetherness. In the same year, the former pair got engaged. Next year, in July 2009, Anna and Chris tied the knot. In an exclusive interview with People, Chris shared that he wanted to marry Anna after meeting her. He was quoted as saying:

"I knew I wanted to marry her pretty soon after I met her. It took a while for me to admit it, because it would be crazy to be like, 'I want to marry you' the first day I met her. But I could have!"

When Anna Faris described herself as a divorce veteran

Anna got divorced twice. First, she parted ways with Ben Indra in 2008. Later, in 2017, Anna and Chris called it quits after their 8-year marriage. In a 2022 conversation with Chelsea Handler on his podcast, Dear Chelsea, Anna described herself as a divorce veteran, as she got divorced twice. She was quoted as saying:

"I'm like a divorce veteran because I've been divorced twice. It hit hard the first time. I turned into somebody that I didn't recognise. I was always the kind of person who had their fridge filled. And I hosted a lot of dinners. That was back when I had friends. I had no one to text or call and say, 'Hey, can I do this?' essentially. I was terrified that I wasn't a good lover. Especially when I was younger, I was so self-conscious of my body. I didn't want anybody to see it. But I would dance on the edges of it. I wanted to be desired desperately."
