Recently, a report by News18 revealed some deets about Ankita Lokhande's early life. As per the report, 'Ankita' is not the diva's real name. If the report is to be believed, Ankita's real name is Tanuja Lokhande. Talking about her early life, Ankita hails from Indore. The diva was born to her parents, the late, Shashikant Lokhande and Vandana. Ankita's father was a banker, while her mom is reported to be a teacher.

However, what is even more interesting to know is that, as per the report, Ankita Lokhande had never been interested in the acting world in her childhood. The diva's family, too, was not keen about her joining the showbiz world.
The same report also stated that Ankita Lokhande completed her graduation in Indore, and later, she went on to pursue her dream of becoming an air hostess by joining the Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training. Later, she decided to take part in the reality show, India’s Best Cinestar Ki Khoj. The diva, who had no interest in the acting world, took part in the show and bagged the winner's trophy.
As per several reports, it was during the show that Ankita grew an interest in acting. However, initially, her parents were not supportive of her acting career, but later, they saw Ankita's interest in the entertainment industry, which made them give in. Later, In 2004, Ankita came to Mumbai and roped in for Ekta Kapoor’s serial, Pavitra Rishta, which completely changed her life.

Ankita Lokhande's past relationship with the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput grabbed a lot of limelight in the past days. For the unversed, Sushant also made his acting debut with Pavitra Rishta, wherein he portrayed the role of 'Manav'. However, 'Archna' and 'Manav's on-screen chemistry shelled out some top-notch goals out there. With the same thing going on, Sushanta and Ankita came close, and they fell in love.
The duo dated for five years, and even they lived together. Later, the duo eventually broke up and parted ways. However, not many know Ankita turned down an offer for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie, Bajirao Mastani, as back then, she wanted to focus on her personal life and marry Sushant. Talking about the same in a throwback interview with ETimes, Ankita shared that she feels sad for making some 'wrong decision' in her life, but she never regrets it because she made the decisions on her own.
