Love is the only key to a happy married life and Bollywood’s ageless couple, Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor have proved it just right. Anil was a struggler when he had met the gorgeous model, Sunita. It was through his friend that Anil had gotten Sunita’s number and the two had started talking on phone before meeting in person. After talking on phone for over a few weeks, the two had met each other for the first time and by that time, the two had developed a strong liking for each other. Throughout their dating phase, Anil was struggling to make his mark in Bollywood and despite making it big in the acting world, Sunita’s parents were not happy with their relationship. But after the release of his film, Mashal, Anil had become an overnight star and the entire industry had advised him not to tie the knot as it would mean the end of his career. Anil had gotten influenced by them and had postponed his wedding twice but finally after fighting all the odds, the duo had gotten married on May 19, 1984 and had started their happily ever after journey.
Anil Kapoor has an array of blockbuster movies to his credit and the most iconic of them is Lamhe, in which he was starred opposite his bhabhi, Sridevi. And as the film completed 29 years, Anil took a trip down the memory lane and shared a throwback babymoon picture with wife, Sunita from the sets of Lamhe. Along with the picture, he recalled how the outdoor shoot was his and Sunita’s babymoon as they were expecting their third child, Harshvarrdhan Kapoor. His note can be read as “I guess you’d call this our babymoon, right @kapoor.sunita?! On May 19, 2020, Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor had completed 36 years of marital bliss and he had penned an adorable wish for her. Sharing an array of pictures with Sunita, Anil had written, “How 19th May became the best day of our lives! I proposed to my girlfriend Sunita and asked her to be my wife... our wedding had been delayed a lot because I wanted to be sure that I could take care of her in the way she deserved and give her everything she could ever dream of...in the very least, I needed to be able to afford to buy a house and hire a cook!! I just wanted to be worthy of her. We got married on 19th May, against all odds."
Recalling his wedding day and the emotional moment of seeing Sunita as his wife, Anil had continued, “I still remember when I entered her house on our wedding day and saw my bride, she was smiling and I had tears in my eyes... Tears of happiness, but also nervousness... I mean it was my wedding day! Our wedding was planned and executed within a day, and yes we may not have had a big wedding or even a honeymoon, which she still teases me about, but it was still the best thing that ever happened to me....it was now or never for us and I’m so glad we took the leap that day and started our lives together... many people prophesied that marrying so early would be disastrous for my career, but all I knew was that I did not want to waste another day without her and wanted her by my side through it all... for us it was never career or love.. it was always love AND career...
