Anamaria even claimed that she got attracted to Luca due to his energy. The pair started dating in 2016 when Anamaria was a student at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. The dating reports emerged when the duo was spotted spending time with each other in places such as Europe.

Luka Doncic and Anamaria Goltes’ respective careers were at their peak shortly after they started dating. Around seven years later, Luka and Anamaria revealed on Instagram in July 2023 that they were now engaged. The social media post, which has been deleted now, featured a picture with a ring and red heart emoji, followed by the date of their engagement, which read “7.7.” According to The Knot, Luka popped the question at Lake Bled in Slovenia. Furthermore, the social media followers believed that the engagement date was intentionally chosen by Luka to match it with his jersey number.

The news was shared in a joint Instagram post with a photo of the baby, without revealing the newborn’s face. Luka and Anamaria were spotted holding the child’s hands in the snap. In December 2025, Luka and Anamaria had their second daughter named Olivia. As per PEOPLE, Doncic skipped a match against the Toronto Raptors so that he could be in Slovenia for the birth of his second child. The reason behind Luka’s missing the game was not revealed in the beginning, and was mentioned as personal.

As mentioned, Luka Doncic missed a match when his second daughter was born. Notably, when Luka went to visit Anamaria Goltes, he was planning to join his team for another match on December 7, 2025, and wanted to bring his daughter, Gabriela, with him to the United States. Luka’s desire eventually led to a dispute with Anamaria, following which the police were allegedly contacted to control the situation at the Kranj Maternity Hospital. However, the police did not find any evidence that could be a crime, and Luka later returned to the United States.

Luka Doncic confirms his separation from Anamaria Goltes

Reports of Luka Doncic and Anamaria Goltes’ split initially emerged when a report by TMZ Sports on March 10, 2026 (ET) stated that the latter filed a petition, seeking child support and attorney fees. However, the reasons behind the petition were not revealed. Luka eventually confirmed his separation from Anamaria while speaking to ESPN on the same day. Doncic said that he will always fight for the happiness of his daughters and give the best life to them. Luka continued by saying:

“I love my daughters more than anything and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement.”
