In an excerpt from the book, Sridevi: The Eternal Screen Goddess by Satyarth Nayak, Saroj Khan, revealed a shocking detail from the sets of the film city on how Amitabh Bachchan tried convincing Sridevi to work with him. The book further revealed that Sridevi remained unconvinced and didn't want to work with Amitabh Bachchan. She felt that there wasn't enough role for her in the film. Later, Sridevi made an interesting demand and proposed that she would only work with him if she could play the roles of his wife and daughter.

When Amitabh Bachchan's mother, Teji Bachchan warned Khuda Gawah producer, 'Agar Jaya ne safed saree pehni toh..'

For the unversed, the 1992 super film, Khuda Gawah was shot in and around Afghanistan cities, which included Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif. Mohammad Najibullah was the President of Afghanistan and had provided security during the eighteen-day shooting schedule of the film in 1991. However, security was definitely a major cause of concern in the Bachchan family.

Once, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the producer, Manoj Desai, revealed that Amitabh Bachchan's mother, Teji Bachchan, had given him a warning. She had bluntly said if Amitabh Bachchan's wife, Jaya Bachchan became a widow, then Manoj's wife would also become one. Recalling the incident, Manoj said:

"Amitabh Bachchan’s mother Teji Bachchan ji had warned me that ‘Agar Amit ko kuch bhi hota hai aur agar Jaya ne safed saare peheni, toh teri wife Kalpana bhi safed saree pehengi. Tu idhar aana hi nahi wapis (If anything happens to Amit and Jaya has to wear a white saree, then your wife too will wear a white saree. You don't bother to come back."
