Abhishek Shares A 1981 Video, When Big B Had Introduced Him And His Shweta 'Di' To The World

In this world, there are two kinds of fathers: strict ones and friendly ones. Some fathers have to act strictly because probably they just want their kids to stay focused and create a balance in their lives. However, it does not mean that the fathers, who are friendly, do not want their kids to be focused and make something out of life. It is just they have a different approach to lead life. Being a part of the era that is developing and progressive, the outlook of fathers have changed and B-town fathers have played a huge role in this. We have seen many celebrity fathers, sharing warm, friendly relationship with their kids and that is a huge inspiration to take on. One such father-son duo is legendary actor, Amitabh Bachchan and his son, Abhishek Bachchan. (Also Read: Karan Johar Talks About Keeping His Twins, Yash And Roohi Away From Falling Into Stereotypes)

Abhishek Bachchan not just looks like the exact replica of his papa Amitabh Bachchan but also shares a friendly bond with him. In an interview, Big B had talked about how the two share a friendly bond and also borrow clothes and shoes from each other. He had said, “We both are friends. I had decided that the moment he starts borrowing my shoes, we would become friends. And that’s what we are. Now he borrows my clothes too.” Abhishek never fails to express his love for his papa and Big B never fails to appreciate his son for his work. As the lockdown phase is making everyone revisit their old memories, Abhishek Bachchan also decided to look back at the times and found out a gold where his papa can be seen introducing him and his Shwet di to the world.

Amitabh Bachchan Says Abhishek Bachchan Is His Best Friend

On May 8, 2020, Abhishek Bachchan took to his Instagram handle to share a major throwback video, which probably no one knew existed. The actor shared a video from the year 1981, where his father, Amitabh Bachchan can be seen introducing his kids to the world in a stage show. Amitabh Bachchan can be heard saying “mere do bachche bhi yahan aaye hue hain… main aap sabko unse milwana cahta hoon” to which Abhishek and Shweta had come on stage. Big B can be seen holding Abhishek’s hands, saying ínka naam Abhishek hai” to which he says ‘hello’ on the mic, and then turning towards Shweta, he can be heard saying, “aur yeh meri beti hain… inka naam hai Shweta.” While after this, Shweta quickly runs off the stage, but on the other hand, Abhishek can be seen standing right beside his father, keeping his hands in his pockets just like his father, and leaves the stage when asked. Along with this really old video, Abhishek penned down some of his fondest memories from that time. His caption can be read as “#flashbackfriday In 1981, my father started the trend of film actors from India doing shows on stage and performing to their songs. Before that, only playback singers did so.” Have a look at the video below:

In the caption, Abhishek also recalled the time when he used to accompany his father on the shows. “I have so many memories of being on the road with him, his co-stars and the immense Kalyanji and Anandji and their 40 piece orchestra helmed by a young and upcoming Viju Shah ( Kalyan ji's son and future Music Director of huge fame). The rehearsals, sound checks, post show dinners in my parents suite in the middle of the night where tiffin's of Gujju food ( lovingly prepared by relatives and friends of the organisers or crew members locally in whichever city they were performing in) would be served to the entire cast and musicians and everyone would discuss the show and how it went whilst a very young, relatively unknown (then) and upcoming stand-up comic would enthrall everyone for hours on end with his mimicry and comedy till it was morning and time to leave for the airport to take the flight to the next city. His name was Johnny Lever!” (Recommended Read: Anil Kapoor Plays Carrom With Wife, Sunita, Son-In-Law, Anand Ahuja Makes A Sarcastic Remark)

Recalling their travel stories from that time, Abhishek wrote, “On the flight everybody would take over the economy class, fold forward all the seats to make a huge gaadha like setting and the musicians, singers and dad would sing and jam and maybe create a new song to be performed later that night at the next venue. This routine went on 3 days straight. I doubt they must have slept for a collective 2 hours over those weekends. Functioning purely on adrenaline! Rest during the week and the routine would resume from Friday, again.”

Abhishek also talked about how he always wanted to get on the stage as quite evident in the video. He wrote, “What times! As a child standing in the wings looking at the show in awe and wonderment. Not realising at that time the legends that I was blessed to witness perform live. Secretly imagining myself on that stage once I grew up. As you can see from this video, my sister couldn't wait to get off the stage and all I wanted to do was stick around. Thank you @mosessapir for sourcing out this video. It brought back such wonderful memories. @amitabhbachchan @shwetabachchan” (Don't Miss: Varun Dhawan's Sweet Reply To Fan Who Asks Him About Baby Planning On His Picture With Natasha Dalal)
