Ameesha Patel is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood. The gorgeousness never leaves a chance to melt the hearts of her fans with her oh-so-beautiful looks, top-notch acting mettle, and straightforward statements. Ameesha always opts for speaking her heart out. For the unversed, the diva debuted in Bollywood with Hrithik Roshan in the latter's father, Rakesh Roshan's movie, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. There's no doubt that their debut film made Hrithik and Ameesha an overnight sensation. While every 90s kid remembers each and every second of this iconic movie, not many know that Ameesha wasn't the first choice for the film. Yes! You read it right. It was Kareena Kapoor Khan who was first selected in the lead role for the movie, which would have been her debut film, too.
The cine-lovers are all familiar with the story that Kareena Kapoor Khan said 'no' to Rakesh Roshan's film, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, and backed out at the end moment. Later, Bebo made her debut with Refugee. There's a scene in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai on the beach wherein Kareena can be seen as it was not removed. However, recently, Ameesha Patel made a shocking revelation about the same and mentioned that Kareena didn't back out from the film.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ameesha Patel shared that Rakesh Roshan had told her that he had asked Kareena to leave the film because they had differences. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that Hirthik's mom was too shocked about the same because the film set was already prepared when Rakesh asked Kareena to leave. And most importantly, it was Hrithik's debut film, so all were stressed about the same. Sharing more details about the same, Ameesha stated:
"Actually she didn’t back out. Mr Rakesh Roshan, from what he told me was that, he asked her to leave the film because they were having differences. In fact Pinky Aunty, Rakesh uncle’s wife and Hrithik’s mom, said we were shocked. The set was ready and how will you find a Sonia in three days? Crores of rupees on that set and you know they’ll have to be dismantled. What we do with the film and it was Hrithik’s debut and everyone was really stressed.”
In the same interview, Ameesha revealed how she ended up being selected as the heroine of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. The brilliant actress shared that Rakesh Roshan met her during that time at a wedding when she was working in the stock market. However, seeing Ameesha, Rakesh invited her and her mom for lunch. And it was only during their brunch that Rakesh Roshan offered the movie to Ameesha. As per the actress, Hrithik's father earlier manifested launching her in a film when she was only 13-14 years old, but the diva's family told the director that the girls of their family do not do films and they are much into studies.

Talking about the same, Ameesha shared what Rakesh Roshan's wife, Pinky told her about the former's reaction after meeting Ameesha. Sharing the details about the same, Ameesha mentioned that Pinky told her that Rakesh didn't sleep the whole night and said that he had found 'Sonia'. Ameesha shared:
"The day he saw me at the wedding, Pinky Aunty actually told me this, she said that Rakesh did not sleep all night. He was like ‘I’ve got my Sonia, I’ve got my Sonia, I’ve got my Sonia but now I hope she says yes’. That was the whole feeling. That’s why when he told Hritik that tomorrow someone’s coming and she’s going to be Sonia, I didn’t know this pre-story had happened.”
In the same interview, Ameesha Patel heaped praises upon Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan and called the latter a blessing in disguise. Talking about Hrithik, Ameesha shared:
"Hrithik, I had seen after a gap of many years and he’d metamorphized into this Greek God from a lanky teenager that I knew him. I walked into the room and I was like ‘wow you look hot’. And I started calling him Pierce after the meeting that we had. I didn’t know that I had left for washroom and he did this (thumbs up) to his dad that you found the girl.”
