Apart from the professional front, Ameesha Patel is in the headlines for her relationship status. She is hitting the headlines after her alleged boyfriend, Faisal Patel, after he proposed to her for marriage publically on social media.

A few days back, Ameesha Patel took to her Twitter handle and shared a picture collage to wish her rumoured boyfriend, Faisal Patel, on his birthday. In the picture collage, we can spot some cute and cosy pictures of Ameesha and Faisal together. Along with the photos, Ameesha penned a sweet birthday wish for Faisal, and it can be read as "Happy bday my darling @mfaisalpatel … love you have a super awesome year." Soon, Ameesha's rumoured beau replied to her wish and left everyone surprised as he proposed to her for marriage publically on Twitter. Faisal Patel's tweet can be read as:
"Thank you, Ameesha. I'm formally proposing in public. Will you marry me?"
Faisal Patel's proposal spread like wildfire on social media, and soon, his and Ameesha Patel's dating reports were all over the internet. While the actress' fans went crazy after seeing reports of her being in love with Faisal Patel, all they wanted to know was the truth behind their favourite actress' relationship status. To clear the speculations and reveal the truth behind her and Faisal's relationship reports, Ameesha sat down in a conversation with the Bombay Times. In her interview, Ameesha opened up about the kind of bond she and Faisal share in reality. She said:
"It is hilarious! Faisal and I go back a long way. We have known each other for years. I am friends with him and his sister."

Going further in the interview, Ameesha Patel also opened up about Faisal Patel's tweet in which he proposed to her for marriage. The actress stated that it was an internal joke between them and her good friend, Faisal often cracks these sorts of jokes. Ameesha explained:
"That message was just an internal joke between us. There is nothing more to it. I am single and I am happy being single. I am not interested in being in a relationship right now. Faisal is someone who loves to crack these jokes."
At the end of the interview, Ameesha Patel also reflected on Faisal Patel's decision to delete his tweet. The actress stated that Faisal had deleted his tweet soon after posting it on Twitter because he had started getting calls from media persons and others. Reflecting on a celebrity's life, Ameesha said:
"I told him that you shouldn't have deleted the message, and that I would have replied to the post in my style. But he said that he started getting calls from people. You see this is what happens with public figures, you can't even joke in public."
