During a panel hosted by Alec Baldwin at the Hamptons International Film Festival, Amanda Seyfried shared that she is no longer comfortable filming intimate scenes with "strangers" (co-stars). She added that she recently turned down an entire television project because of it. Amid her boundaries regarding on-screen romance, her revelation regarding filming a nude scene while being pregnant has come under focus.

Amanda Seyfried once opened up about an unexpected behind-the-scenes detail from her 2025 film The Testament of Ann Lee. She said that the film "needed to be graphic" and thus, to maintain authenticity, included a bare-body scene. While appearing on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show, Amanda explained that as someone who doesn't do a lot of explicit scenes, it pushed her out of her comfort zone; however, she felt empowered after doing it.
The scene in question included Amanda, who played the titular character of Ann Lee, standing in front of a burning building while being unclothed. The actress stated that audiences assumed that she was completely exposed during the filming of that scene; however, that wasn't the case in reality. Amanda revealed that she used a merkin to protect her modesty.
Although Amanda wasn't completely bare-bodied in the scene, it still was challenging for her as she was pregnant during the filming. Despite the vulnerability of the moment, the actress stated that the scene left her feeling empowered rather than uncomfortable. She explained that she "felt so free" after doing something out of the ordinary.
Amanda added that prosthetics were used to cover part of her lower body; however, the part couldn't be seen in the final cut. When host Scott Mills questioned why the production would include it if it wasn't visible, she explained it was simply a precaution. Sharing her experience, Amanda stated:
"I was pregnant and naked, but I wasn't naked at all. And at the end of the movie, I'm standing in front of a burning building with just a merkin...You cannot see my bu-----e in [the scene], but I swear there is a prosthetic bu-----e there."

In November 2016, Amanda and Thomas revealed that they were expecting. The couple attended a press launch for Givenchy's Live Irrésistible fragrance, where Amanda was seen flaunting her baby bump. After four months, in March 2017, when the actress was nine months pregnant, she and Thomas "eloped" and got married. The couple had a private ceremony in Topanga, followed by a brunch at Cheebo in Los Angeles.
Amanda wanted to get married before giving birth to her and Thomas' first child, who reportedly arrived two weeks after the wedding. The duo became parents in the same month they got married as they welcomed a baby girl and named her Nina. Speaking about the same, Amanda told PorterEdit:
"I really wanted to have rings on in the hospital, you know? And what if something goes wrong, and he's not legally my husband?"
