A Reddit user shared a video featuring Alia Bhatt in which she was seen giving a speech at the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards. She began by expressing her gratitude and thanking everyone for giving an opportunity to her to be at the stage. Further, she talked about how she was invited to the event and said:
"Thank you. Okay I'll just say thank you to Jitesh, thank you Filmfare, thank you Anu. I literally told Jitesh that when he said, 'You know, you're coming for Glamour and Style Awards, that's happening on third, you have to come'."

Afterwards, Alia revealed what she had said to the person who casually invited her to the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards. The actress mentioned that she had asked for an award at that function, regardless of category. Finally, she ended by stating:
"I said, 'Okay I'm coming, you just give me an award like I don't even know which award I was getting.' Drop it, cut that down, but that's the truth. Thank you for giving me this award, and I feel very stylish tonight and hope to be stylish every night and every day."
As soon as the video surfaced online, netizens started reacting to Alia Bhatt's speech at the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards. While some pointed out the loopholes of these award functions, others talked about the side effects of nepotism in the film industry. One user commented, "So casually she said that, just give me an award. What a privilege. No credibility of these awards anymore." Another one penned, "This video is the only Filmfare video that was needed. She's calling Filmfare a sellout in the show."

Talking about Alia Bhatt's sartorial choices, she knows how to ace each of her looks at various events. Earlier, when she attended the historic event of Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya along with her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, it was her look that stood out. The actress wore a Mysore silk saree with the important events from Ramayan being handpainted on its pallu.
The saree featured scenes from King Dasharatha's promise in the boat with Guha, the golden deer, the kidnapping of Sita, the Ram Setu buildup, Lord Hanuman presenting the ring to Ma Sita and Ram Pattabhishek. The paintings were done in a traditional 'Pattachitra' style, and it took 100 hours to complete the saree on time for the ceremony.
