While Brahmastra lovebirds, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are B-town's 'IT' couple at the moment, their love and blooming romance has been the talk of the town for quite a while now. Not only did Ranbir tagged his brewing love as ‘really new’, Alia is also often snapped with his family on dinner get-togethers. Even on Ranbir’s 36th birthday, Alia wished her 'sunshine' on social media, and his mom, Neetu Kapoor shared some pictures from the celebrations. Ranbir and Alia can be seen happily posing with their mothers, Neetu Kapoor and Soni Razdan. Post Ranbir’s birthday, he along with his parents, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu ji went to the US for some medical treatment of the 102 Not Out star. A day after Ranbir’s birthday, on September 29, 2018, Rishi ji tweeted about his short absence from work and requested his well-wishers to not unnecessarily speculate.
He tweeted, "I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It's been 45 years 'plus' of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!" Ranbir and Neetu ji accompanied Rishi ji to the US, and the trio even missed Krishna Raj Kapoor’s funeral on October 1, 2018.
Since they arrived in the US, the veteran actor has seen quite a few visitors including Sonali Bendre, Priyanka Chopra and Anupam Kher. Adding to the list of the visitors is someone special to the family. It is none other than Alia Bhatt. And her recent visit to the New York City is just a proof of how much she cares about the Kapoors. Alia posted a photograph of herself from the streets of NYC, and captioned it, “The Big Apple”.
While it is still unclear as to what treatment Rishi ji is undergoing in the US, rumours were rife that he has been diagnosed with stage III cancer. But slamming such conjectures, his brother Randhir Kapoor stated to a media portal, "We don't know yet what is the exact nature of his ailment. Rishi himself doesn't know what he's suffering from. He has not even started undergoing tests there; how can people speculate that he has cancer and that too, one that has escalated to advanced stage." He further added, “Let him undergo tests peacefully; whatever the results, we will let everyone know. He only reached America two-three days ago and so far, he was being prepared for the tests that he has to undergo. Depending on what the results are, his line of treatment, medication and other modalities will be decided upon. It’s not fair to speculate things just like that.”
Before going to the US, Alia made an appearance on Karan Johar’s talk show, Koffee with Karan season 6 with Ranbir’s ex-girlfriend, Deepika Padukone. Discussing the ‘elephant in the room’, Karan said, “Having been in a relationship with Ranbir, Alia is in one, right now”, Deepika immediately interrupted him and wittily exclaimed, “Don’t try and make it awkward, because it was not”. Here, take a look at the video:
And if sources are to be believed, Alia and Ranbir might tie the knot in 2020. As per the reports, “Alia is in a great phase of her life right now. She is in love and they both are sure of each other. Marriage is certainly on the cards but it won't happen before 2020”.
