Alia Bhatt Talks About Her Wedding Plans With Ranbir Kapoor, Says 'It Hasn't Even Crossed My Mind'

B-town’s favourite actress, Alia Bhatt, who started her career as a young college fashionista in Karan Johar’s film, Student of the Year (2012), has come a long way. She has been demonstrating her acting skills in every genre and while we can never get over her amazing craft, it is her personal life that always stays in the limelight. (Recommend Read: Taimur Ali Khan Flaunts 'Spikes Look' At School's Annual Day With Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor Khan)

Alia’s love-story is nothing less than a fairytale! From a very long time, she had a huge crush on Sanju star, Ranbir Kapoor. The actress had even gone on record to confirm that if given a chance she would marry him on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan. And, as they say, ‘True love finds its way’, the two fell in love while working for their first film together, Brahmastra and made headlines with their PDA.

However, of late, talks have been rife that she might get hitched to Ranbir by the end of this year, and in an interview with Hindustan Times, Alia cleared the air. She said, “Not at all! I feel it’s all unnecessary chatter. You have to understand that personal life is called ‘personal’ for a reason. In fact, that’s why, not many speak up about their relationships. The minute you say anything, there are random pieces of news including my supposed marriage.” (Also Read: Anisha Padukone Teases Deepika Padukone On Her Wax Statue, Says As If One Of Her Wasn't Enough)

She further went on to say, “It has even reached my fans. So, sometimes, when I interact with them on social media, they also ask me when I am getting married. And I am like, ‘why are you asking me this? Have I said anything? Have I given a feeler?’ No. Since it has been a “season of marriages”, everyone expects that I might also do the same.”

She also opened about her thoughts on marriage, and shared, “But marriage is something that hasn’t even crossed my mind. I am not averse to it. But it’s not a part of my plan right now. I have a lot of work to do. It’s not as if I won’t work post marriage, whenever it happens. But right now, my focus is just on work. My priorities will probably shift in time. As of now, it hasn’t.” (You May Also Like: Esha Deol's Lovely Birthday Wish For Big Brother Abhay Deol, Shares An Unseen Throwback Picture)

In the same interview, the Raazi star also talked about being an avid admirer of Persian poet, Rumi, and revealed, “I just love Rumi”. She shared a Rumi quote that states, “You have to keep breaking your heart until it opens.” Alia explained, “This is one of my most favourite quotes. There’s something about letting someone feel sad, heartbroken or low. Most people will always tell me, ‘oh, you must be happy’. But I feel you can’t always be happy and it’s important to feel the other side, too. I feel once your heart opens, there are so many possibilities for you. In fact, I really love Meryl Streep’s line, ‘take your broken heart and turn it into art’. I feel greatness comes with a heartbreak.” We agree, Alia!

For those who don’t know, in a throwback interview, Alia had recalled her first, rather embarrassing conversation with Ranbir. She had said, “I remember the first time I spoke to Ranbir. You (Karan Johar) called him up when Rockstar just released and you said, ‘Here, talk to Ranbir. Tell him how much you love him’. And I spoke so much rubbish. I was just talking non-stop, and he was like, ‘Yeah, that's very nice, Alia.’”

Later, in May 2018, Alia said that Ranbir was her biggest crush of all time. She had talked about her link-up rumours in an interview with India Today, and had stated, “I don't have to deal with them, because if it's true, it's true. And if it's false, it's false. Let's just say everything is not because of a movie and everything is not for publicity.” (Don't Miss: Ranbir Kapoor's Ex, Katrina Kaif Wishes His Current GF, Alia Bhatt On Her Birthday With New Nickname)
