Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s love story is all about shiddat. It was Alia’s crush confession on Ranbir in 2014 on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan that kind of started their love story. Her prayers were heard by the universe when they had started working on the film, Brahmastra together. During the shooting, Cupid had struck them and now, it’s been years that they are dating.
It was at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand S Ahuja’s wedding reception that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor had made their relationship official. The two had walked in at Sonam and Anand’s reception holding each other’s hand, making their fans super happy. They are head-over-heels in love with each other and have become a part of one another’s family.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt often indirectly showcase their love for each other. A similar incident happened a few hours back, when Alia shared a post-workout mirror selfie on her IG handle, wearing a blue sports bra and legging set. However, her phone cover, indirectly spoke volumes about her love for Ranbir as it has a heart followed by ‘8’ which is her beau, Ranbir’s jersey number. She captioned the picture as “20 done 20 to go #sohfit40daychallenge.” Ranbir’s ex, Katrina Kaif dropped a comment, “Uh huh”, followed by a fire emoticon.
Alia Bhatt has kept her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor well-guarded, however, she never fails to shares snippets from it. On February 2, 2021, Alia had interacted with her fans in a fun ‘True or False’ session and had answered questions about her love for food, animals and the number ‘8’. When Alia was asked if she loves number 8, she had replied, “True. Love”, making a hand-heart sign, and blushing throughout the video.

In August 2018, Alia Bhatt had showcased her love for Ranbir Kapoor through his jersey. She had posted a picture on her IG handle, wearing a blue jersey with the number ‘8’ written on it. Topping it all, she had captioned it as “To infinity & beyond.” Well, this was her silent way of expressing her love for RK. Well, for the unversed, whenever, Ranbir plays football matches, his jersey number is 8.
On Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan, Alia Bhatt had recalled her first interaction with Ranbir Kapoor and had said, "I remember the first time I spoke to Ranbir. You (Karan Johar) called him up when Rockstar just released and you said, 'Here, talk to Ranbir. Tell him how much you love him'. And I spoke so much rubbish. I was just talking non-stop, and he was like, 'Yeah, that's very nice, Alia.'"
Alia Bhatt had then shared her desire to marry Ranbir and had said, “Obviously, I have hung out with him after that, and I still think he is really adorable. And I still want to marry him." At that time Ranbir was dating Katrina Kaif, and thus, when Karan had asked Alia if her then-BFF, Katrina knew about her plans to marry Ranbir, she had stated, "Everybody knows my plans. I have gone on record and I have said it. I'm very open about it except to Ranbir."
