Almost a year ago, the nationwide lockdown was announced to restrain the spread of COVID-19 as a lot of people were losing their lives to this deadly virus. In 2021, though some nations have developed a potential vaccine against COVID-19 and a lot of front-line workers and aged people have taken the first dose, the threat of this life-threatening virus is still there. Sometimes, despite following the protocols, one may contract COVID-19 and similar happened with Brahmastra star, Ranbir Kapoor. After his mother, Neetu Kapoor fought the deadly virus in November 2020, Ranbir contracted COVID-19 and was tested positive in March 2021. It was a few days ago when reports were rife that Ranbir Kapoor had tested positive for COVID-19 and a source had revealed to Pinkvilla that the star is under quarantine, resting it out. When they had contacted Ranbir’s uncle, Randhir Kapoor, he had confirmed with a ‘Yes’. However, he was quick to add, “I believe he is not well, but I am not sure what he has got. I am not in town.” Neetu Kapoor had then confirmed that Ranbir tested positive for COVID-19. She had written on her Instagram, “Thank you for your concern and your good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self quarantine at home and following all precautions.”
After Ranbir Kapoor tested positive for COVID-19, rumours were rife that his ladylove, Alia Bhatt may have also contracted the virus. But she refuted the reports soon through her IG handle and was also spotted with her director-friend, Ayan Mukerji at a temple in Mumbai, after performing Maha Shivratri puja. When Alia was asked by the paparazzi, “Kuch khaas manga?”, she retorted, "Haan manga, lekin nahi bataungi." A while ago, Alia dropped the most romantic picture with Ranbir as she is majorly missing him. Sharing a picture with Ranbir, holding his hands, Alia wrote, "Major missing" followed by a heart emoji.
To confirm that she has tested negative for COVID-19 and refuting the reports surfacing in the media of her positive test, Alia Bhatt had released a statement. The same could be read as "I've been reading all your messages of concern and care. I have tested negative for COVID-19 and after isolating and speaking with my doctors, I am back to work from today. Thank you for all your good wishes. I am taking care and staying safe. You please do the same" with the hashtags, #DoGazzKiDoori and #MaskHaiZaroori. According to the reports, Alia has also postponed her birthday celebration plans because of her beau, Ranbir Kapoor’s health condition. A few days ago, Alia Bhatt had stepped out as a bride for an advertisement shoot and her bridal look had created a stir on social media. Ditching the traditional bridal colour i.e., red, Alia had picked pastel shade for her bridal outfit and it had made our wait to see her as Ranbir Kapoor ki dulhaniya even more difficult. Famous mehendi artist, Veena Nagda had posted pictures with Alia, dressed as a bride and flaunting her henna-clad hands. The pictures were captioned as “On set of Cadbury Perk Commercial with lovely @aliaabhatt shot by @goodmorningfilms.”
By the end of 2020, the headlines had reported that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will tie the knot in 2021. Reportedly, earlier Ranbir and Alia had plans to get married in 2020 but due to COVID-19 and the demise of former’s father, Rishi Kapoor, they had decided to take the plunge in 2021. Amid the reports, Alia had clarified in an interview with Pinkvilla, “When will I marry? Why is everyone asking me when I’m going to get married? You know I’m only 25 years old, and I think it’s too soon to get married right now.” (Also Read: Alia Bhatt Is Lost In Love And Laughter With Her Beau, Ranbir Kapoor On The Sets Of An Ad Shoot)
