Alex Bueno's Cause Of Death, Singer Faced Prolonged Illness And Had To Undergo Treatment For Months

Alex Bueno has unexpectedly passed away on June 18, 2026. He was 62 years old at the time of his death. The singer was well known for his collaborations with record labels such as Karen Records and J&N Records. Alex built a big fan base throughout his career with multiple solo releases, including Jardin Prohibido, Esa Pared, Como Nadie, and more. He even established a group called Orquesta Liberacion, which gained recognition for its albums like Negrita Ingrata, Alex, La Orquesta Tuca Musical Vol. 2, and many others.

What were the circumstances leading to Alex Bueno’s death?

Alex Bueno had been battling cancer for a long time, which eventually led to his death. The health issues started in September 2025 with a brain tumour, following which he had to undergo surgery in the US, which worked and prevented the tumour from creating any big complications. However, this was not the end of the problem since he had to undergo treatment for cancer cells that were discovered in the lesion.

The cells slowly started spreading throughout his body. Notably, Alex preferred to keep this battle out of the limelight, and his close ones supported the decision. But the health issue took a turn for the worse a few weeks ago. An Instagram post shared through his official handle on June 18, 2026, also says:

“His recovery was progressing well until three weeks ago, when he experienced a significant drop in his sodium and blood pressure levels, leading to severe physical decline and a complication in his condition. The artist is currently in the intensive care unit, where he is receiving specialized medical attention (he is not intubated). We have complete faith in his strength and, with God's grace, remain hopeful that he will successfully overcome this new health challenge.”

Alex Bueno developed addiction problems at an early stage of his career

Alex Bueno’s addiction issues were a result of the popularity that he achieved at an early age. The artist was heavily addicted to drugs and alcohol, which impacted his career. He once claimed in an interview that he used to live among individuals who preferred to see him using drugs, and those people intended to take advantage of him. Notably, the drug use impacted a lot of things in his life, including some financial losses.

For the unversed, Alex Bueno was only 16 years old when he developed a marijuana addiction, and he later started using cocaine. The addiction was so severe that he had to enter a rehab. The idea worked, and he was sober by 2014. A year before he was sober, Alex exchanged vows with Sarah Arias. The pair’s wedding ceremony was organised in Miami, and Alex confirmed the same through a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Although he battled addiction issues at a young age, Alex’s journey in the music industry started when he was a child. Bueno used to play the guitar and sing at the same time in various places. He even emerged as a winner of the Festival De La Voz in 1978 and was eventually invited by Gerardo Veras to join the group, Santo Domingo’s All Star. This marked the beginning of Alex’s successful career in the musical world, which did not stop until his recent demise.
