Former Bollywood actress, Twinkle Khanna is known for her wit and the level of humour she can bring to any situation. The actress-turned-writer, Mrs Funnybone has been making headlines for all the right reasons. Recently, she showed us another reason to applaud her charming nature. Twinkle took to her Instagram handle and gave us a new excuse to bunk the class and it will definitely work. She shared a video of her pet dog nibbling her daughter, Nitara’s school shoes. When the six-year-old snatched her shoe, the little puppy seemed ready to fight back. Twinkle wrote, “A better excuse than the dog ate my homework - You can bunk school all together with this one - The dog ate my school shoes #doggylife.” Check out the video below:
Twinkle’s husband and the Khiladi of B-town is a complete family man, but above all, he is a doting father of two adorable kids, Aarav (15) and Nitara (6). But not many would know that Nitara was originally named Nitara Khanna Bhatia to pay respect to Twinkle’s father and veteran actor, Rajesh Khanna. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Akshay talked about how difficult it is to babysit his six-year-old joy of wonders. He had said, “My wife (Twinkle Khanna) is touring Europe, my son Aarav is in Oxford for a two-week study course so I'm babysitting my daughter Nitara besides shooting for a film (Reema Kagti's sports-drama Gold). And I have to confess that minding a little girl is a tough job.” He further went on to say, “My admiration for Mrs Funnybones has gone up several notches after realising the magnitude of the task. I don't know how she writes, designs, looks after our children and still manages to stay calm on most days.”
He also revealed the challenges he faced during it all, and has stated, “Every morning, Nitara and I have breakfast together, then, we go to this park nearby where one can feed rabbits and goats. After her day-nurse comes, I travel to London for my shoot. Post 'pack-up', I take my daughter out again. The other evening, we went to watch Cars. Half way through the film she decided that she was tired, so we had to leave and drive back. I tried explaining to her that I wanted to continue watching the movie till the end, to no avail. For those who don't know, Twinkle and Akshay met during a shoot for Filmfare magazine, in Mumbai, where Akshay developed an instant crush on her. In one of his interviews with Filmfare, the actor confessed the same and has said, "I met Twinkle for the first time during a photo session with Jayesh Seth for Filmfare. I still have that photograph. Thank you, Filmfare!” However, it was actually during the shooting of their film, International Khiladi, when the two fell for each other, and the rest is history.
Akshay has never shied away from expressing his feeling for Twinkle. He was once quoted as saying, “The one idea that changed my life was the day I decided to get married to my wife”. In another interview, he had said, “Twinkle has not only added to my wardrobe but also to my bank balance. I was a scattered person; she is the one who has put me together. After marriage, she has kind of raised me (Laughs). On a serious note, whenever I’ve broken down she’s given me emotional support.”
Earlier, in an interview with Mid-Day, Twinkle talked about the relationship she shares with her husband. She had stated, “I'd say our social, political ideologies, sense of humour, are very different. What's interesting is that after the first few years, we gave up trying to change each other. What we did instead was start to learn from each other. Luckily all his strengths are my weaknesses, and vice versa. What would I learn if we were more like each other anyway? I really believe two peas in a pod died of inertia. And we are not like that. So we continue to grow. Marriages essentially fail, when you try to clone the other person to become like you, it's not possible. We're two different brains. Mine is a washing machine, whirling, chaotic. His thoughts are neatly folded in the closet of his mind. I need his stability to hem me in. He needs me to push him out of his comfort zone."
