Popular actress, Akanksha Puri, who has recently been eliminated from Bigg Boss OTT season 2, has been making shocking revelations about her personal and professional lives in multiple interviews. Now, in a recent interview, Akanksha opened up about her love life for the first time and recalled the dark phase of her life post-breakup. The actress shed light on the lesser-known facts of her relationships and revealed how it took a toll on her mental health.
In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Akanksha Puri opened up about her relationship with late actor, Sidharth Shukla and revealed that both of them 'friend-zoned' each other. However, Akanksha added that she and Sidharth never hated each other and maintained a good relationship till the very end. She said:
“The first relationship, we friend-zoned it mutually. With him (Sidharth), I maintained a good relationship till the very end. We never became enemies. He always stayed my very good friend.”
In the same interview, Akanksha Puri also revealed that she never got closure with her ex-boyfriend, Paras Chabbra. Talking about the same, she shared that since Paras was inside the Bigg Boss house, both of them ended their relationship from their end. Revealing that they never saw each other or talked to one another even after Paras came out of the house, Akanksha said:
“But in my second relationship, I never had a proper closure. When he was inside the Bigg Boss house, both of us ended the relationship from our end, but we never talked after that, even after he came out of the house. We never saw each other again. He moved on in his life and I also moved on.”
For the unversed, Paras Chhabra fell in love with Mahira Sharma on the show, Bigg Boss 13 and publicly called off his relationship with Akanksha Puri. After that, Akanksha entered the reality show, Mika Di Vohti, as a wild card contestant and became the winner of the show. However, she and Mika Singh clarified that they are ‘just friends’ and are not involved romantically. In the same interview, Akanksha revealed that after her relationship with Paras had an ugly end, she started to believe she will never find love again in her life. She said:
“I have started to believe that I will always be single and I have learnt to live alone also. I do not trust people now. I did date a few people but they wanted me only for dating, they didn’t want a relationship. I was often told, ‘You are my happy space Akanksha, but let’s not take it somewhere else.’ But I don’t want to be anyone’s happy place anymore.”
Further in the interview, Akanksha spoke about dealing with mental health and trauma after being in a 4-year-long relationship with Paras Chhabra. She revealed that she had gone through anxiety and depression issues and was unable to sleep at night. Adding that she took medicines for the same thing to be able to work for 12 to 16 hours, Akanksha said:
"During those days I had consulted many people and have gone through anxiety and depression issues. And this is the first time I would have spoken about it. During that time I was shooting for Vighnaharta Ganesh, and I was unable to sleep at night. The next morning I had to work for 16 hours on TV in the lead role of Parvati. I had also taken medicines for the same thing because without them I was unable to work for 12 to 16 hours. And then I found my happy place which was the gym and would spend 2 hours in it which gave me a perfect body and worked for my mental well-being."
Elaborating on the same, Akanksha revealed that even after going through a mental breakdown after her breakup with Paras, she never took a break or thought about suicide. However, she added that her emotions have taken a toll after not getting the closure. She concluded:
"I never took a break even if I was going through a mental breakdown after my break up with Paras. But even after that I never thought about suicide. I never thought of quitting because Akanksha Puri is strong enough and loves her close ones. My emotions have taken a toll after not getting the closure, and even now I am recovering. However, now we have moved on and never thought of calling each other and talking about it."
