Aishwarya Sharma Going To Play Protagonist In Ekta Kapoor's Series Amid Divorce Buzz With Neil Bhatt

For a long time, reports have been rife that all is not well between Aishwarya Sharma and Neil Bhatt. The two, who used to never stop sharing their PDA moments on social media, maintained a distance and stopped their joint appearances. It soon led to murmurs of their marital life hitting a rough patch. Amidst the reports of divorce, Aishwarya Sharma has bagged a lead role in Ekta Kapoor's upcoming series.

Aishwarya Sharma is going to star in Ekta Kapoor's upcoming series

According to the latest report in Free Press Journal, Ekta Kapoor is set to launch a new series on YouTube. If rumours are to be believed, Aishwarya Sharma has been finalised for the lead role. The actress is going to star opposite Varun Vijae. He is famously known for his work in Sasural Simar Kaa and Anupamaa. Aishwarya has been approached for the project. However, no official announcement regarding the show's cast has yet been made. 

The reports further state that Aishwarya's character is going to have layers of emotions and is designed to appeal to a large section of the audience. Ekta Kapoor is planning to follow a long-format storytelling structure as part of Bajaji Telefilms' recent digital ventures.

Aishwarya Sharma and Neil Bhatt's divorce buzz

In November 2025, reports again ignited that Neil Bhatt and Aishwarya Sharma had filed for divorce. As per a report by News 18 Showsha, Aishwarya and Neil have decided to head their separate ways and have filed for divorce. It is stated that the two have been living separately for a long time. A source said:

"Neil and Aishwarya have been living separately for a long time now. They have now officially filed for divorce and formalities are likely to begin soon. We are not sure how the problem between the two started but it is confirmed that they are now heading ways."

While Aishwarya and Neil have stopped posting pictures with each other entirely, which raised speculations about their divorce, the two continue to follow each other on social media. However, on Karwa Chauth, Aishwarya took to her IG handle and posted a beautiful story featuring chand. The soft pink-hued chand became the centre of the stage for which every married woman waited for the whole day, as they could open their fast. And it makes netizens wonder if she kept the fast. 

Neil Bhatt was accused of cheating

A few months ago, Aishwarya's husband, Neil, was accused of cheating as he was spotted in Mumbai. In the clip, which went viral, Neil was with a girl, and fans started speculating if he was cheating on his wife, Aishwarya. However, their eagle-eyed fans confirmed that the girl was the duo's mutual friend. The girl was later identified as Kinjal Dhamecha, who also works in Television. She is known for her role as 'Siddhi Gokarna' in the television serial Bawara Dil.

When Aishwarya Sharma reacted to the buzz of separation

On June 26, 2025, Aishwarya took to her Instagram handle and posted an Instagram story discussing the buzz surrounding her marital life. Aishwarya, in a long note, expressed how she has been staying silent for a long time, but it doesn't mean she is weak. She slammed those who have been building false narratives using her personal life. She wrote:

"I have been silent for a long time. Not because I am weak but because I have been protecting my peace. But the way some of you continue to write things I have never said, build narratives I have never endorsed and use my name for your own publicity without facts or accountability is deeply painful."
