In the video doing the rounds on social media, Aishwarya Rai was seen wearing a yellow-hued outfit at an event. One of the journalists asked the actress about an old statement of hers wherein she claimed about shifting to Hollywood. However, the actress lost her cool at the journalist and lashed out by asking him to check his facts before attributing her. Aishwarya said:
“Wait a minute. Maine kab kaha? Nahi kaun se interview me? No, aap mujhe ye interview dikhaiye fir hum baat karenge.”

Aishwarya then asked another media person if she was aware that the former had said so in any interview, and the journalist replied that she didn't know. The actress then mentioned that though she has worked in multiple language films, it doesn't mean that she was going to shift anywhere. In her words:
"If you want to ask a question, please do. Don't attribute statements to me. I've worked first in Tamil films, then in Hindi and Bengali films, and now, I'm working in some English films. But this does not mean I'm shifting anywhere or I'm part of any other industry. It's just broadening your experience in some way.”
As the video surfaced online, many netizens flooded the comment section with their reactions. While some lauded Aishwarya for setting the records straight, others compared her to her mother-in-law, Jaya Bachchan, who often blasts the media. A user wrote, “Ohh glimpse of Jaya ji,” another penned, “Omg she sounded like (how) Jaya Bachchan sounds today,” Meanwhile, a third user commented, “In 1 moment, I felt jaya bachchan accent.”
