Ahan Shetty On Pressure Of Being Suniel Shetty's Son And The Nepo Tag, Says, 'I Manifested This..'

Border 2 is one of the much-awaited sequels of Sunny Deol and Suniel Shetty's 1999 film, Border. The original film left generations in tears, giving us songs like Ke Ghar Kab Aaoge that still leave fans with goosebumps even after 27 years. Now, the sequel is all set to be released, marking the return of Sunny Deol, alongside Suniel Shetty's son, Ahan Shetty. However, it seems like the pressure is truly on for the young actor.

Ahan Shetty wants to prove himself

The character poster for Ahan Shetty in the upcoming war film, Border 2, was released on the morning of December 9, 2025. The film marks the return of Sunny Deol, along with some new additions, including Varun Dhawan, Diljeet Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. In the poster released on Instagram today, Ahan can be seen working with a machine gun while blood-soaked in an army uniform.

What makes the film even more special is that Ahan carries forward the legacy of his father, Suniel Shetty, who starred in the 1997 film, Border. During a candid conversation, Ahan Shetty addressed stepping into the already very large shows of his father, Suniel Shetty. The actor revealed that he feels the pressure like any other actor in the industry. He was quoted as saying:

"I think there's pressure on every actor in this day and age to perform and to do well, irrespective of if you are a nepo kid or not. But it does feel like a divine legacy for sure. In many ways, I feel like I manifested this."

Ahan Shetty further elaborated that for him, it felt like a manifestation had come true when he got to be a part of Border 2. The actor revealed that Border was one of the films that really mesmerised him, so being part of it was a surreal experience. He expressed his hope that the audience would accept him and stated:

"Even initially, when people used to ask me why I got into the industry, I would always say that Border's one film that really got me interested in films. Being able to get Border 2 as my second film was surreal. Carrying my father's legacy forward is very personal to both of us. I'm just hoping the audience accepts me."

Ahan Shetty addresses the 'nepo tag'

In a time when nepotism has become a hot topic of discussion in Bollywood, Ahan doesn't shy away from it and admits he just wants to prove himself worthy.
