Netflix has returned with another dating series, Age of Attraction. The show will be hosted by Nick Viall and Natalie Joy, a couple with an 18-year age gap. Why is it relevant, you might ask? Well, the show follows the concept of keeping the contestants' ages a secret until they have given the relationship a real shot. With 20 men and 20 women in the mix and mingling at a woodsy retreat, let's see if the show is worth a watch.
The show begins with seaplanes flying to a retreat carrying out contestants of various ages. The group in Age of Attraction is said to be of varying ages, with both men and women ranging from their 20s to their 50s. However, as they get to know each other one-on-one, there's one factor that must remain concealed as they test whether they have chemistry. You guessed it, it's their age. The contestants can reveal their ages only after exchanging their promise rings in the 'Promise Room'. Once they have decided to continue, they move in together in the 'real world' and meet each other's families. After that, they can have a final dramatic mountaintop meeting. This is the final stage of the show where the couples decide whether to commit to each other or walk away.

In the first episode, we see a lot of Vanelle, who is trying to decide between the sincere Justin and the guy who makes her weak in the knees when his shirt comes off, aka Jorge. Meanwhile, Theresa has sparks flying everywhere with the much younger, John. However, she has no idea just how much younger he is. On the other hand, there's Libby and Andrew, who are getting along really well, despite Andrew's uncertainty about whether he already having kids might turn Libby off. And much-young-looking, Tristan is a bit too forward with Erin, who is both intrigued and icked out by it, especially as he may be younger than her nephew.

There are several dating shows available to binge-watch online. However, while the concept of the Age of Attraction has set it apart from the rest, the show's format and structure have reminded fans of one. And yes, we are talking about the show, Love Is Blind. While the first half of the show offers a fresh outlook on finding love and connection, the second half, which lets couples explore their lives in real life, bears a striking similarity to LIB. However, how the makers will make it stand apart will be interesting to watch.

While everything about the show seems good, the final question is whether it's worth watching. Well, Age of Attraction seems to do a good job of keeping the audience hooked. Especially in the early phase. While some men have salt-and-pepper beards and some women have lines or two on their faces, the participants' ages are kept hidden from the audience as well, only revealed in the 'Promise Room'.

The mystery keeps the audience locked in, as one cannot guess how young or old the contestants actually are. The same was evident in John and Theresa's case, as the latter talked about having children as old as 29, giving viewers a hint that she might be in her 50s, whereas John could be anywhere from his mid-20s to his late 30s. Something the viewers find impossible to guess, given his maturity around Theresa. However, there are questions about how things will work in the 'real world'.

The participants have joined the show from across the country, so where they move in together is said to be a neutral spot neither person is familiar with. The show starting off on the 'age is just a number' and 'love knows no age' hill, will eventually run into the realities of families that doubt relationships with big age gaps, whether the younger half of the couple can deal with the older half dedicating time to their children, and all sorts of other issues.
The show has offered some emotional insight into the lives of the contestants. Especially given that Justin gets really emotional during an interview when he talks about possibly losing his chance to be a father because of his age. As for the skin show, the audience can relax, as it might only feature kissing. Talking about the hosts, it's Villa and Joy who actually make an interesting choice. However, the promise rings are a bit much, especially since they look like wedding bands, given that the message, "let's be boyfriend and girlfriend", doesn't align with the symbolism the bands actually represent.
