Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal have been dominating the fan discussion forums and news articles since their wedding was postponed indefinitely. The latest updates include that the postponement has been changed to a cancellation, and there's no chance of reconciliation. The Indian cricket team vice-captain and the music composer themselves shared the update with their fans through separate statements on their social media handles around the same time on December 7, 2025. The ex-couple, who were set to start their married life on November 23, 2025, are now as good as strangers. Following their marriage call-off, Smriti shared her first post, which is a message of strength and resilience.
A day after Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal's wedding was called off, she made her first social media post. The cricketer shared a video of her recent ad campaign, in which she looked bold and confident. The video's message was strong, with Smriti looking focused. It began with the voiceover, "they said calm couldn't handle chaos", which perfectly embodies Smriti, who looks like the composed and mature type, but is a warrior in her natural habitat, i.e, her cricket ground. She made the post just a day after sharing that she wanted to "close this matter" regarding her cancelled wedding and focus on things that matter more to her.

Smriti shared that her focus would remain on a "higher purpose", representing India in cricket and bringing home more trophies, like the women's team's recent World Cup win. She requested privacy and respect for both her and Palaash's families, citing the time and space they need to move past the incident. Her latest Instagram post regarding the ad campaign showed her cricketer side, the one that the fans were waiting to see, amid her wedding drama. Smriti swung the bat in swift swishes and stated that "the world got loud, yet I chose clarity over panic." Her post's caption could be read as:
"For me, calm isn't silence – it's control."

Palaash Muchhal released a statement on Instagram confirming the cancellation of his wedding with Smriti Mandhana, mentioning, "I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal life." He described this period as "the most difficult phase" of his life and expressed his intention to handle it with grace. Palaash also addressed public speculation, urging society to refrain from judging based on "baseless rumours". He concluded by stating his team would pursue legal action against those spreading false and "defamatory content" about him and thanked his supporters for their kindness.

Prior to the official call-off announcement, when the wedding was merely postponed, Palak had issued a statement requesting privacy and strength for both families during a difficult time, emphasising the need for positivity. But after both Palaash and Smriti issued statements about the cancellation of their marriage, his sister showed her support for her sibling. After Palaash, Palak unfollowed Smriti Mandhana on social media and deleted photos featuring the Indian cricket vice-captain from her profile. Smriti unfollowed the siblings as well, indirectly hinting at cutting ties with them.
