Adnan Sami has been one of the much-loved and revered singers in the Indian musical industry. Born in London, Adnan's father was a Pashtun, while his mother was an Indian from Jammu. He made his debut in the musical arena when his first single, Run For His Life got released in 1986. He collaborated with legendary singer, Asha Bhonsle in the year 2000 to release his first Indian music compilation, titled Kabhi To Nazar Milao. Succeeding his way likewise, he contributed massively as a playback singer, and was awarded the Padma Shri in 2020. In his personal life, he had two turbulent marriages with actress, Zeba Bakhtiar and thereafter with Sabah Galadari. Both of these ended in bitter divorces. Currently, Adnan is enjoying his happy married life with his third wife, Roya Sami Khan and the duo is parents to a daughter, Medina.
Adnan Sami and Zeba Bakhtiar got married in the year 1993. The duo was blessed with a son, Azaan. However, after a few years, the duo separated. While the reason is not known, but at the time of parting, they went through a traumatic experience. Apart from divorce, there was also the case of custody for their son, which ultimately went to Zeba. And now, in an interview with Aamna Haider Isani, Zeba opened up about that particular phase of her life. Revealing how her marriage and subsequent divorce took a toll on her acting prospects, she mentioned:
“When I got married to Adnan, I was wrapping up a few films. At that time, I wasn’t interested in continuing to act. I wanted to write, maybe produce. I wasn’t that involved in acting. Then I married Adnan and Azaan was born, I was totally invested in that. But when the marriage didn’t work out, I started doing productions and other projects.”

In the same interview, Zeba mentioned the ugly part of her divorce from Adnan and revealed that it was the 18-month-long custody battle that was pathetic. She revealed that she was on the verge of losing her mind since there were a lot of things going on at the same time. Moreover, she revealed that she was advised by her friends to take up work again at that time so that she does not lose her sanity. In her words:
“I lost my mind. I was functioning because that coping mechanism comes from somewhere, but I was not all there. I have got big patches which I don’t remember. It was very difficult. But I am thankful I got back with Azaan. It was 18 months of this custody battle. I wasn’t working during that time, but a few friends of mine told me to work for my own sanity. There was a friend who was doing a serial in England and I joined the same show. I went to London for a few months to shoot that.”
Adnan Sami was granted Indian citizenship in the year 2016, after giving up his birth-citizenship with Pakistan. However, many claimed that the prolific singer decided to settle down in India because of monetary benefits. Revealing the true reason, Adnan, in an earlier interview with the Humans Of Bombay, smashed all such claims and mentioned that people are not half aware of his origins. He mentioned that he is blessed with a well-to-do family background where money has never been an issue.

In one of his older interviews with the Hindustan Times, Adnan had opened up about his drastic weight loss transformation from 230kgs to 80kgs. He added that weight had been an issue with him for long, and it was his perennial struggle to shed the kilos. In his words:
“I have, for the longest period, had issues with my weight, and it has been a lifelong struggle. I keep, for lack of a better word, yo-yoing, going up on the scales. The first time I lost a tremendous amount of weight was around 2007-2008. Then, I kept putting on and losing weight. It’s a part of life. This time, too, it was a typical occasion when I had lost some weight."
