Urfi Javed is hitting the headlines for her uncommon fashion choices. The actress was last seen in the popular reality show Bigg Boss OTT as a contestant. After being evicted from the show, Urfi has been a social media target for trollers. A month ago, she was trolled on social media for sharing a picture of her airport look, where she had worn a sports bra with a denim jacket. The actress was brutally criticised for her outfit, which the viewers had found a bit revealing.
But her bold look isn't the only reason for garnering a lot of attention. There have also been rumours that Urfi Javed is the granddaughter of the famous Indian poet and lyricist, Javed Akhtar. The rumours soon caught Javed Akhtar’s wife and actress, Shabana Azmi's attention as she used her Twitter handle to clarify the same.

After Shabana Azmi’s tweet, Urfi finally decided to break the silence on the rumours. The actress denied that she is in any manner associated with the Akhtar family. Speaking to a leading daily, Urfi said, "People have cooked up stories just because my real name is Urfi Javed. But he was never associated with me in any way. All this is just done to troll him and put his name down by associating my outfit controversy with him. But how is that even relevant? Even if his own granddaughter wears anything of her choice, what's wrong with that? Why is he being held responsible for that?"
Just one day back, Urfi Javed shared a post on her Instagram handle, where she had donned excellent pink and blue checked coat as a dress. She paired two thick silver chains with her outfit. While she looked hot in her pictures, she added a very sarcastic caption with it. She had written, “2 din se itne log pooch chuke hai, K kya mai javed akhtar ji ki poti (grand daughter) hu? Iska jawab de deke mere sar me dard ho gaya hai! Farhan or Zoya ko bolo jaidaad me ab ek or hissa badh gaya hai!”. Translated in English it means, “Since 2 day’s people have been asking me if I am Javed Akhtar’s granddaughter? I have got a headache after replying to this question. So tell Farhan and Zoya to add another name in their will.”

Earlier this week, Shabana Azmi on Twitter had shared a news article on Urfi along with a video which speculated that she is Javed Akhtar's granddaughter. Due to which Shabana had clarified, "Urfi Javed is not related to us in any way." In another tweet, she had said, "She is not related to us in any way. Stop spreading lies!"
