The reality show, Bigg Boss is famous to bring out the intense emotions of a person and make them realise their self-worth and where they might be going wrong in their lives. In the 14th season of Bigg Boss, we have witnessed many celebrities understanding their heartfelt emotions and making some startling confessions, amongst them, one was made by Rubina Dilaik during a task, where she revealed that she and her husband, Abhinav were on the verge to end their marriage. She had also revealed that had it not been for the show, the two would have filed for a divorce in November 2020. For the unversed, it was in the year 2018, when Choti Bahu-Sindoor Bin Suhagan fame actress, Rubina Dilaik and Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka actor, Abhinav Shukla had decided to hold each other's hands forever. The two had an intimate destination wedding on June 21, 2018, at Heritage Woodville Palace in Shimla in the classiest manner. And since then, while for us the two were painting the town red, for them, there were major things troubling their happy paradise. The troubles were enough that the two had decided to call it quits, however, not anymore as their relationship got a second chance in the Bigg Boss 14 house.
A lot has been said and written about Rubina and Abhinav's relationship inside and outside the BB house. People had even judged Rubina’s intention to make such startling confession on the national television, however, as they say, alls well that ends well. Now, that Abhinav Shukla is out of the show, in a conversation with ETimes, he opened up on his divorce fiasco and if the couple still plans to file a divorce. Stating that everything is fine and there won’t be any divorce happening, he said, “Everything is fine now. There’s no divorce happening. The show made us stronger and strengthened our bond.”
Abhinav also shared that before signing for the show, he had joked with Rubina that the fights inside the house will make them feel that they were fighting about small things only. He said, “When we were discussing the show before giving a nod to it, I jokingly told Rubina that once you see the fights inside the BB house, you might forget the little fights we had. Jo tab humko badi lagti thi, woh actually bahut choti-choti ladaiyaan thi. During our stay in the house, we realised that we were making a fuss about small issues. Now, when she comes out of the house, hopefully after the grand finale, we will look into our issues and will solve them.” Talking about their families’ reaction, he added, “I haven't discussed our personal issues with our families yet. But I will talk about it, I am waiting for the right time. They are also very understanding, so there is no issue here.”
Recalling Rubina’s shocking revelation about her marriage with Abhinav and how she had shared that their relationship was falling apart. In her own words, “Humne ek dusre ko November tak ka time diya tha. We were about to get divorced. Agar yaha dono saath nahi aate, toh shayad sath bhi na reh paate (We had given each other time till November. We were about to get divorced. In one of the episodes of Bigg Boss 14, Abhinav Shukla and Rubina Dilaik had opened up about their proposal story to housemates, Rakhi Sawant and Nikki Tamboli. Revealing the same, Abhinav had stated that it was Rubina, who had proposed to him, to which Rubina had added that Abhinav is quite shy and had responded to the proposal with a ‘Thank you’. She had also added that he had made her wait for nine months before saying ‘yes’ to her proposal.
