It was in the year 2018, when Choti Bahu-Sindoor Bin Suhagan fame, Rubina Dilaik and Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka actor, Abhinav Shukla had decided to hold each other's hands forever. The two had an intimate destination wedding on June 21, 2018, at Heritage Woodville Palace in Shimla in the classiest manner. And since then, the two have been painting the town red with their love. But their relationship had gone through testing times and the two were on the verge of calling it quits. With the thought of giving a second chance to their relationship, Rubina and Abhinav had signed up for Bigg Boss 14.

Not just Rubina emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss 14 but also mended her broken marriage with Abhinav Shukla. On May 1, 2021, Rubina Dilaik had taken to her IG handle and had revealed that she had tested positive for COVID-19. Her post could be read as “I always look out for silver lining!! I will be now eligible for donating plasma after a month. Tested positive! Home quarantined for 17 days! Whosoever has come in contact with me past 5/7 days, plz get yourself tested!” Rubina is quarantined in Shimla, whereas, her hubby, Abhinav Shukla is in Mumbai.
Abhinav, who will be participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 is expected to leave for Cape Town to begin the shooting. But the actor is uncomfortable leaving Rubina before she recovers. Talking about the same in an interview with ETimes, Abhinav said, “Yes I am getting ready for that. I just want Rubina to be totally fine. I have made a flow chart for her which includes the things to do in certain situations based on a person's symptoms. Once she gets better, I will be relieved and can comfortably go for the show. Thankfully, as of now she has good immunity and is fighting it well. Her symptoms are stable and everything is good so far. I am managing things as much as I can staying here in Mumbai while she's in Shimla.”
On May 3, 2021, Abhinav had taken to his IG handle and had shared a picture of a toothbrush holder with a single toothbrush. Along with the picture, Abhinav had penned a heartmelting note for Rubina, which could be read as “Life is incomplete without the other one... @rubinadilaik get well soon baby.”

In an interview with ETimes, Bigg Boss 14 winner, Rubina Dilaik had talked about her historic win and had showered immense praises and love on her husband, Abhinav Shukla, for being her pillar of strength. She had said, "Abhinav's support made me stronger. When I won the show, he congratulated me, we hugged and kissed. It was beautiful to have him there with me." Rubina had also added that she and Abhinav had decided during their stay in the Bigg Boss's house that they'll get married for the second time after the show ends, and it'll be a huge destination wedding. She had added, "Ab main bas destination wedding ke baare mein soch rahi hoon (laughs). There will be a second wedding for sure and a journey of a lifetime, which we had promised each other on the show."
