An ABC source tells Page Six that the network is not replacing Jimmy and has no plans to ‘suspend him, fire him or cancel the show.’ The insider also confirmed that the network is ‘back to taping per usual. They’re moving on.’

It so happened that during the recent episode of his The Jimmy Kimmel show, the host, Jimmy, went on to address Melania Trump as an 'expectant widow' shortly before the shooting incident at White House Correspondents' Dinner. He said, "Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs Trump, you glow like an expectant widow."

Initially, it was considered a satire, but soon Jimmy began to receive backlash and was accused of inciting violence. Many social media users commented on Jimmy’s insensitive remark, accusing him of crossing the line. Many of his supporters called it just a political satire and asked people not to make a hue and cry over the matter.

How did Melania Trump react to Jimmy Kimmel’s 'expectant widow' comment?

Meanwhile, Melania Trump took to her X handle and accused Jimmy of inciting divisiveness nationwide. Not only did she point out Jimmy’s insensitive remark, but she also demanded action against him. Donald Trump echoed the sentiment in a separate post on Trump Social. Calling Jimmy a 'Coward', Melania penned:

"Kimmel's hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn't comedy—his words are corrosive and deepen the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn't have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand."

Jimmy Kimmel was previously suspended by the ABC network

Jimmy Kimmel gained wide recognition as a host on the show, Jimmy Kimmel Live. The show earned him three Primetime Emmy Awards and four Academy Awards. But his fame comes with a price, as the host often faces backlash for his statements. Previously, Jimmy made some insensitive comments about the fatal shooting of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk. After he criticised the 'MAGA gang' for allegedly politicising Charlie's death, Jimmy received widespread backlash. Following this, ABC announced that it will be suspending late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. But they had to reverse the decision within days of receiving major criticism from viewers and interest groups.
