When Aaron was seven or eight years old, his father purchased a set of Titleist 690 MBs that cost between 800 and 1,000 British pounds. The equipment was highly valued by the athlete since he knew the pain his father took for the same. Since then, following the practice session, Aaron’s father implemented a strict cleaning regimen by clearing every groove with a pin and baby oil before covering the irons. In an interview with Sirius XM PGA Tour, Aaron said:

“It started from the age of four years old, when my dad used to pay for my equipment. He paid for my membership, paid for my entry fees. It wasn't money that we really had, to be honest, but he'd always buy me the best clubs.”

Aaron’s father thought it would be good to put the equipment on iron covers to protect them. In an same interview, Aaron elaborated on the same and revealed that the iron covers is a reminder for him to appreciate the value of things. In his words:

“When we used to go out and practice, he used to clean every single groove afterward with a pin and baby oil, and to protect the golf clubs he thought it would be good to put iron covers on them. And I've pretty much had iron covers on all my sets ever since, just to kind of appreciate the value of what I have."

Aaron Rai took home more than USD 3 million, and reportedly, he is the only individual to have his hands on this amount. With his alleged salary from the PGA Championship, Aaron Rai's career earnings are now reportedly USD 16 million.

His comments came during his post-match interview after securing his third DP World Tour title at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in November 2025. He was quoted by The Mirror as saying:

"It's hard for me to really sum up how much of an effect she's had on me as a person, and also that actually feeds into my golf."
