Ira Khan, the daughter of Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta, has always spoken about her mental health issues. For those who don't know, Ira has been undergoing treatment for cyclic depression, which was caused by her parents' divorce. But the way the star kid overcame the tough phase and fought it bravely is really praiseworthy. Ira's depression led her to drop out of college. And now Ira has opened up about the same and revealed that she regrets her decision now.

Ira Khan talks about her decision to drop out of her college

For the unversed, Aamir Khan's daughter, Ira Khan studied in the Netherlands at Utrecht University. However, her mental health issues caused her to drop out of the same in 2016, and after that, she returned to India and took a year gap. Now, in an interview with India Today, Ira Khan mentioned that she shouldn't opt to drop out. The star kid added that there were many reasons that led her to take this drastic step. Ira shared that it was mainly fear and panic, and then her therapist being on a break, which led her to drop out.

Ira Khan reveals she now regrets her decision to drop out of college

Elaborating more about the same, Ira Khan mentioned that she shouldn't have done that, and she regrets the same now. Sharing why, Ira said that she had found her friend, co-curricular, and all the things that now come as a regret to her. Ira said that one should sometimes just wait for a bit and see if such a tough situation pass. Ira can be quoted as saying:

"I should not have dropped out at that point...fear and in panic and sometimes you just need to wait a little while and see if it passes. So I regret dropping out of college because I had actually found my friends, I had found my co-curricular..I had found those things".

When Aamir Khan revealed that his daughter has been seeking out therapy

On World Mental Health Day, on October 10, 2023, Ira Khan took to her IG handle and dropped a video with Aamir Khan, wherein they talked broadly about mental health issues. In the same video, Aamir Khan shared that his daughter has been seeking therapy for many years, and it provided her with great benefits. The actor also stated that one should definitely seek help from a trained one if they need and there's no shame in that.

When Ira Khan revealed that her parents' divorce triggered her depression

Earlier in an interview with The Times Of India, Ira Khan shared that it was her parents, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta's divorce that became a trigger for her emotional turmoil, which led her to depression. Talking more about the same issue, Ira said that her therapist made her realise the same.

Ira Khan's personal life

Talking about Ira Khan's personal life, the star kid has been in a steady relationship with her longtime beau, Nupur Shikhare. The duo exchanged rings on November 18, 2022, in an intimate ceremony. In an interview with ETimes, Ira opened up about her marriage plans and revealed that she and Nupur will get married on January 3, 2024, as the day is very special to them, as on that day, the much-in-love couple shared their first kiss.
