Bollywood’s perfectionist, Aamir Khan’s darling daughter, Ira Khan, is all set to tie the knot tomorrow, that is, on January 3, 2024. While the Khan household is buzzing with the wedding preparations, an old interview caught our attention, where Aamir Khan revealed details of his daughter’s wedding and subsequently spoke about Nupur Shikhare. He also divulged why he thinks Nupur is the perfect man for Ira.
Getting your daughter married to the love of her life is one of the most beautiful yet emotional experiences of a father’s life. Talking about the same to News18, the 3 Idiots actor revealed that he is very emotional person and will cry a lot at his daughter, Ira’s wedding. Aamir further added:
“On that day, (wedding day) I am going to cry a lot. Main toh bada emotional hota hoon bhai, uss din main bahut rone waala hoon yeh toh tay hai. Discussions have already begun in the family about ‘Aamir ko sambaalna uss din’ because I am very emotional. I can’t control my smile nor my tears.”

In the same interview, Aamir Khan lauded his damaad-to-be, Nupur Shikhare. The Lagaan actor revealed that Nupur has always been beside his daughter, Ira and has even supported her with her depression battle. Aamir also added that Nupur is the ideal match for Ira, he further said that:
“When Ira was battling depression, he was with her. He is really someone who has stood by her and emotionally supported her. This might be a filmy dialogue, but Nupur is like a son. Nupur is such a fine boy; we really feel he’s part of the family and his mother, Pritam ji is someone who is already a part of our family.”
Aamir Khan spoke very fondly of his to-be son-in-law, Nupur Shikhare and revealed that he lovingly calls him Popoye. Elaborating on the nickname, Aamir Khan added that Nupur is a trainer and his arms are like the cartoon character, ‘Popoye’. Aamir Khan added:
“Waise toh pet name unka naam Popoye hai. He is a trainer, and he has arms like Popeye, but his name is Nupur. He is a lovely boy.”

In a recent conversation with ETimes, Aamir Khan’s sister, Nikhat Khan Hedge revealed that they had a Maharashtrian mehendi ceremony where the entire clan decked up in traditional navari and nath. As for the sangeet ceremony, the families has decided to have a casual celebration where they all will be singing songs on dhol, and the ladies will even perform on stage.
